Product Description Dirt is the second studio album by American rock band Alice in Chains, released on September 29, 1992, by Columbia Records. It was the band's last album recorded with all four original members. The majority of the songs were written by guitarist Jerry Cantrell, but for the first vocalist Layne Staley wrote two songs by himself (Hself). ate to Feel" and "Angry Chair", both also featuring Staley on guitar. The track "Iron Gland" features Tom Araya from Slayer on vocals. The album's lyrics explore depression, pain, anger, anti-social behavior, relationships, drug (primarily heroin) addiction, war, death, and other emotionally charged topics. desertcart.com Review Alice in Chains were initially tagged with the "grunge" moniker, when in fact their haunting, ponderous sound was far closer to the progressive rock of Queensryche. Their second album, Dirt, is a moody, portentous affair, filled with occasionally inspired riffing from guitarist Jerry Cantrell and hair-tossed wailing from singer Layne Staley. Perhaps the band got lumped in with Generation X because their lyrics focused upon depression, death, and drugs. Certainly, titles such as "Down in a Hole," "Junkhead," and "Hate to Feel" didn't leave much room for doubt as to Cantrell's perspective. The quartet did have a slightly lighter, almost poppy side to them, though, as "God Smack" and "Hate to Feel" indicate. アリチェンと言えばこのアルバム。 このアルバムだけダントツでカッコいい！ 捨て曲無しで頭から全曲名曲です。 同時代だとパールジャムの1st、2ndもかなり良かったが、よりクセが強く飽きがこない感じ。ちなみに僕はハードロックが大嫌いなんですが、ハードロック色があるバンドではこのバンドが最高にツボ入りました。サウンドガーデンとパールジャムのいいとこ取りした感じかな。

レインがバッキバッキandカントレルの才能（作曲）爆発の本作はアリチェンファンから最高傑作との呼び声高い名盤です。悪いわけがありません。是非､ご視聴下さい。でも僕は1stそして3rdも大好きで、一番好きなのが､レインが逝く前の3rdです。疾走感と澱んだ重さの両方を求めるなら本作がベストチョイスかなと思います。

陰鬱なメロディなのにすっーと耳に入り込んでくる 歌声にクセがありメロディーにもクセがある 退屈な曲もあるがそこがまた陰鬱さとマッチして良い味が出てる 自分で何言ってるか分からなくなってきた(笑) ただただ自ら聴くしかないと思う 真っ暗な部屋で

Avec "Dirt", Alice in Chains livre un album sombre et poignant, qui reste une référence incontournable du metal alternatif et du grunge. Sorti en 1992, cet opus représente une plongée profonde dans les tourments personnels de Layne Staley et Jerry Cantrell, notamment à travers des thèmes comme l’addiction, la dépression, et la solitude. La poussière, métaphore de la déchéance humaine, sert ici de terreau pour des compositions torturées mais magistrales, où chaque riff lourd et chaque ligne vocale déchirante semble extraire la souffrance à vif. Des morceaux comme "Rooster", "Would?" ou "Them Bones" marquent par leur intensité et leur atmosphère suffocante, sublimées par les harmonies vocales si caractéristiques du duo Staley/Cantrell. "Dirt" n'est pas qu'un album de plus dans la carrière du groupe, c’est la quintessence de leur son : crasseux, viscéral et d'une honnêteté brute qui continue de résonner des décennies plus tard. Un album à la fois cathartique et puissant, qui a contribué à propulser Alice in Chains au rang de légendes du rock, tout en marquant à jamais l'histoire du metal alternatif.

I’ve had the walmart apple red version of this album. I didn’t know there’s an orange one. And to top my liking more.. It’s translucent orange. I just love it. Goes very well with the album artwork.

Excellent quality 180g pressing. No pops, no scratches. Very clean. I'm not going to talk much about the songs as any Alice in Chains fan is well aware of them. This is a great album.
