A Thai Lullaby Review: My Go To new baby gift book - I have this book in my preschool classroom and the children love it. Bought one for my granddaughter and now include it for any baby shower gift add on. Sweet story that can be read to infants and will grow with the child as they can easily “read” along with familiar, repetitive phrases. Review: The artwork and pictures capture the old Thailand just as much as the prose. - I lived in Thailand for three years and my kids, grandkids and now a great grandson enjoy much of their Thai heritage. This book was a first birthday present for the two newest boys (born about twelve hours apart). I think t's destined to survive childhood to be looked back on many years from now. The stories certainly have a Thai perspective, but too, the pictures are of a Thailand that is largely past the days of the small charcoal stoves in almost every bungalow. The short handled broom with soft fan shaped sweep are likely still in use today. This is a pleasant 'look-back' for some and a fun read along for the younger set. I suspect not just the young will smile as the pages turn. The artwork and pictures capture the old Thailand just as much as the prose.

A very special book great for bedtime
Absolutely one of my favorite books to read my kiddos before bedtime. The sounds are so relaxing and get my kids in the mindset of settling down to sleep. When they got older they loved trying to find the baby (not sleeping) on the pages with the animals.

Great picture book for young children
This book was one of my daughter's favorite books. It features jungle animals and the sounds that they make (much more interesting than barnyard animals). The mother is trying to get all the animals to be quiet as her young child is sleeping. The fun part, though, is how the young child is awake and playing the whole time, an ongoing joke that children love. At the end of the book, the mother and all the animals are asleep while the child is happily (and safely) awake. A really fun read for both parent and child, colorfully illustrated. You'll have fun trying to make the animal sounds. Whenever I need to buy a baby book for a friend, this is my first choice.

Very soothing bedtime story
I have this book memorized- we read it every night, and it always calms my twins down and helps them get ready to sleep. The cadence of the words is really soothing, and the repetition makes it easy to read on autopilot when you're tired too! The drawings are in pretty neutral colors, so they're soothing as well- although it's fun to watch what the baby's doing in the background! Older kids will like the animal noises as well. I've also used this in my classroom during "Around the World" units, and it's great for teaching about animals in Thailand (and having a mellow moment with the whole class!). This is one of my favorite books to give as a gift to new parents, and I highly recommend it!

Amazing Book
My 4 yr old loves this book. On the other hand my request to the seller . Please put items like these in a sealed bag. Upon receiving this book. As I was flipping through the pages there was a strong oil smell. It drive me nuts why the book smelled . Than I gave a closer look. What may have had happened. The box this book was in it was placed flat on the bottom because there were other items in the same box. I figured there may had been a spill of motor oil during shipping in any of the trucks. The outer box wet due to that the oil was soaked by the pages of this book. This is such a good book. I'd hate to see my child sad since I considered a return. Instead I left it to air out . The smell is still there a slight. Other than this issue there's nothing wrong with this book. My daughter can't be apart from this book.♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡

Love this book
LOVE this book, I wish the quality was a little better the pages felt kind of flimsy, but it’s such a great book, I would still buy it over again for my kids!

Cute and funny
I was watching "you've got mail" for the one hundredth time and I noticed this book in the "store around the corner" display. Yes, in the movie. Intruigued, I started reading about all of the awards the book received and it captivated me so I ordered it. Warning: the following contains story spoilers. "Hush!" is a rhyme about a mom trying to get the animals around her house to be quite because "cant you see that baby is sleeping?" You find out that the baby was never sleeping and even Late at night, when the mom is exhausted from trying to hush everything, the baby is still wide awake. I felt totally identified and cracked up the first time I read it. My toddler loves it and we read it as part of her bedtime routine.
