Handy Art Student Acrylic Gallon, White Gesso 128 Fl Oz (Pack of 1)

Of all the gesso I've ever bought, this is probably the best, in that it's easiest to use and store. To me, gesso is gesso, but for some reason, I find this one to be of higher quality than the rest.

I used this product to make a canvas floor cloth. The consistency is perfect. I was able to thin the first coat and use the but hinted product for the remaining three coats. Easy to use and cleanup with water. This was my first floor cloth so I'm glad I bought a gallon as I plan to make many more cloths. I have used gesso before and it was not as smooth and easy to use as this product. Highly recommend.

The product is okay. It does not cover well. it is better used as an additive for thicker student grade paints. It works if you want to do acrylic pouring, but it is truly student grade.

I’ve ordered this same product before and was pleased with it - it was smooth and covered well. This bucket was lumpy and no amount of mixing can smooth it out. I tried it still and it left clumps on the surface. It’s totally unusable with a wet cement-like texture. Very disappointing - big waste.

If you like a thin, fluid gesso this will be fine. However, if you are looking for a semi to thick gesso keep looking. For a reasonably priced thicker gesso go to an art store and buy Demco or Liquitex.

It is a very inexpensive gesso and you get what you pay for. I found that it took three coats of gesso to cover up paint that I wanted to change. I should have just purchased the more expensive gesso.
