My last pinpointer died on me a few weeks ago, so I did a lot of research online and decided on this Teknetics Tek-Point Pinpointer. I made my decision based on a lot of 5-star positive reviews from other users and was open to the idea of trying out this fairly new "pulse-induction" technology it employs. I also like the solid construction and the comfortable feel in my hand. It even comes with a well-made belt holster. Plus, no more 9-volt batteries! It takes 2 AA's and that works for me, since I have a plenty of rechargeables I can use. It performs extremely well in the field and can identify targets with ease. I'm very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to any detectorist, beginner or well-seasoned pro.

The media could not be loaded. This pinpoint rocks. Little complicated on the settings, but you learn fast. The highest setting is to high when pinpointing in hole, but works well above ground to pinpoint and exact spot to dig. This thing can pinpoint deep. I do not get the false reading like others said, I have had the light not come on certain times tho, I can live with it, kind of annoying when it happens though. Ive had this pointer for about a month, will be updating in future.

This is a tough one to rate. In short, it does a great job at detecting most metal, but the user interface for changing settings is bad. On/off is easy, it's only changing settings that is convoluted. If they can fix the user interface I would give it 5 stars. It does feel solid and well built and the vibration + beep feature is really nice. I bought this to find metal in wood (nails, screws). It has done an excellent job finding nails and screws in a tree that I had to remove, saving me many chainsaw chains. But for some reason the nails in my fence are invisible to it, they must be made from a type of metal that this technology doesn't detect for some reason. But it detects every other nail or screw I've encountered from several inches away. On the down side, the single button user interface is horrible for changing the sensitivity levels. The instructions are written clear enough, but it does not behave the way the instructions say it should, leaving you completely unsure of which sensitivity level is currently selected. i.e. you're supposed to get 1, 2 or 3 beep + vibrate indicating low, medium or high sensitivity. I get 4 beep+vibrate, so what does that mean? That frustration aside, it does do an excellent job at detecting most metal.

I have had this pin-pointer now about 5 months. Hasn't failed me once, the battery life is amazing, I detect A LOT, and I just changed batteries about 2 weeks ago. It has plenty of features and there is a small learning curve to enable those, I would recommend reading the manual and running through them before you get in the field, always easier to learn those things before you've been digging holes all day and are filthy, lol. Thing is built like a tank I would STRONGLY recommend this to anyone to buy.

Perfect for land and underwater. I rarely have to change the batteries and most digs last 6-8 hours. The frequency feature is great if you experience feedback from your detector. It's excellent for finding small objects in high mineral soils. I used to think it gave false readings but more often than not it's the tip or head of a nail as well as small bits of rusty iron. I can confirm that with the help of the teknetiks Patriot this pin pointer has found late 1700s large cents and 1800s silver along with many artifacts. This pinpointer located a silver 3 cent piece in less than a minute.

As soon as you pick it up you can feel the real high quality build. Works great vibration pulses faster as you get closer, makes it really easy to home in on the item.

This pinpointed outperforms it’s major competitors by a wide margin. Zero interference with my Bounty Hunter Land Ranger Pro, and 100% waterproof to 6’. Works great in the river to pinpoint metal between the rocks and in the gravel totally submerged. I pinpoint targets deeper from the surface than the Garrett pinpointer, meaning I acquire targets faster and dig smaller holes to find my targets.

First off the pointer is really a 360 degree metal detector it doesn’t work like a true pin pointer ,if you’re close to the find it goes off , so for instance if you dig a hole and the find is on the side wall of the hole it will buzz at the bottom of the hole ! You really have no idea of the precise location of the find , save your money and get a mine lab or a garret they pin point dead on the find and not to mention this takes a while to learn the functions the only pro of this would be that it takes AA batteries , AVOID AVOID
