Genuine Finnish army M65 field cap. Finland military issue surplus wool hat, Gray, Large

This is a good hat. The stitching is tight and regular. The fabric is a summer weight cloth. However, in my case the hat size chart feature did not function. I ordered the same size as another I have. This M65 was far too big! I tossed it into the wash on hot. It fits! I moved the button locations for a more snug appeaance. Buy it.

I ordered a size large and got a 59 cm cap, but the snug fit is fine. More of a dress cap than a full proper field cap, and you do need a Finnish cockade to complete the hat that you can get off Ebay. Not really a ww2 or cold war variant, mine was made in what I assume was 1991 so if you were expecting an original thick wool as seen in the winter war and continuation war, this is not it Expect the quality to be on par with soviet or west german surplus items of the period, which for me, is perfect. It is comfortable to wear for long periods of time in most temperate environments and a good replacement for any regular baseball cap.

This is an authentically constructed hat, and I'm satisfied with it. I purchased it a bit large, and that's how I would characterize the fit. The leather sweatband is supple/comfortable. The only thing that is currently a challenge, is the forming of the brim. I believe these were supposed to be cardboard, and getting the flatness of the brim out of it is going to be a bit of a challenge. Other than that, it's about what I expected from a military issued garment.

Great fit (large) Very comfortable, unlike most American ball caps. The design is molded to fit a human head. My large was size 58cm (7 3/8 USA) and was right on. Well crafted, works for cold weather but not for artic zones.

Seriously, this hat is really nice. I was a little worried when I looked at the price point, but glad to be surprised. Definitely more of a fall weather hat than a winter weather hat, so be advised on that if you mean to used it outdoors.For my purposes though is great. Might replace the plastic buttons with some brass ones, but for the cost this hat is absolutely worth it.

The is a very good quality hat. Stitching is very good. Lined with a leather band. The cap has a quality finish look because of high quality materials. If only I could ski!

The hat definitely runs small. Otherwise it seems like a really nice, cool looking hat.
