As of right now, I say it's comfy!
So far, I really like this shoe. I purchased them because I wanted to feel more stable during at home yoga/dance routines, but I also wanted to be able to feel my foot being pointed. The soles seem to give adequate sliding ability on a hard surface floor, but I don't feel like my foot is going to slide out from under me suddenly. I have wider feet (prior pregnancies have made me akin to a duck. Stupid hormones.) but I also have small feet (usually wear 6.5 or 7 in regular shoes) so I went ahead and ordered the 7. It fits nicely, and doesn't feel like the wider section of foot is pinched. Heel feels snug and supported. Over all the shoe is a tad bit bulkier in the sole than I expected for a dance shoe, but I can ignore it. If your pinky toe is smaller and has significant curl under, your toe may feel like it will get stuck when pointing due to the overhead clearance inside the shoe. Dance tape might help with that. I will update after I use them more.

Great but calculate your size first.
Be warned first, there is something wacky going on with the sizing and packaging of these shoes. First, they run 1 to 1/2 size large. Secondly, when you order them, the size you order will be 1 size larger than what you ordered. Weird? Confused? Here's what happend to me. I ordered a 7.5 US. The shipping slip, order form and even outside of the package said 7.5. However, on the shoe's tongue, where the size label is, it was a 6.5. Now, remember that they run big? Well, I returned and reordered. Thinking I really needed a size 6 (half size too big, and I was going by the tongue label). Guess what I got? Shipping slip, order form, outside of package read size 6, the shoes inside read size 5. Now, oddly enough, they fit. It was a tight fit, but I always order my dance shoes small because of the stretching that happens after time. Other than this freaky mix up, I love these shoes. Super comfortable. Great cushion. Great arch support. Would totally recommend them, just beware when you're ordering your size.

NOT QUITE WHAT I EXPECTED
This shoe was not very expensive and I thought I'd give it a try as I was looking for a replacement shoe that could stand up to the activity I put on my shoes for dancing and activities. However, while it fit great, the arch was a bit strange. I did not feel enough support and the arch "support" is nothing more than a strip of leather or synthetic material that joins the front of the shoe to the heel of the shoe. The rear part of the ball of my foot seemed to take on some pressure as the shoe spread forward and back. This made my arch feel unsupported. I will try them again but after the first few times wearing these, I don't think I would buy these again. I will revise this post if I anything changes in this review opinion.

These shoes work well for their intended purpose, which is as a practice shoe for ballroom. The biggest problem I have with them is the sole insert- it's not attached to the body of the shoe. I can't just take it out because then the shoe is too big and I can't replace it because a store bought insert would have the same problem. It's only a concern because I am using these shoes for ballroom and flex my feet through the arch quite a bit. The loose insert then actually bunches under the arch of my foot instead of lying smoothly within the shoe.

I initially purchased my regular 81/2 size but they fit small and I ordered size 9 and they fit great. I have been wearing them
I am a zumba instructor and I got all excited about this dancing shoes. I initially purchased my regular 81/2 size but they fit small and I ordered size 9 and they fit great. I have been wearing them long enough to tell you that they do provide a good heel support however the sole is slippery and I have opted not to use them for my classes as I am afraid to fall. I wear them regularly and they are pretty comfortable but stay away from the gym floor and specially the exercise room wood floor.

I could feel the red bands at the arch of my foot, which would be uncomfortable.
Took two weeks to receive. Tried them on, and I could feel the red bands that wrap around the arch of the shoe, just standing. Walked a few steps, and could feel them then, too. These are neat looking, the mesh is good on them. But they won't work for Zumba, or for me, just wearing them. Size fit was perfect.Requested a refund. If there's a problem with that, I will update.

I am a ballet teacher with bad old feet
I am a ballet teacher with bad old feet, so I teach in these sneakers. The split sole makes it possible to point your feet, but there is no real arch support for all day wear. I wore them around the house to break them in a bit. I like them.

Great shoes!!!
I followed the advice of some of the other reviews and purchased a size up and they fit perfectly. Had I ordered my size, they would have been too small for sure. I purchased these shoes for Zumba, and boy oh boy, my workout intensity improved 100%. I can twist and slide a lot easier across the floor. Be warned, these shoes are slippery on the gym floor so be careful.
