Vimtag Security Camera Outdoor 2.5K, 2.4G/5G Smart Wi-Fi Cameras for Home Security with Color Night Vision, Motion Activated Spotlight/Siren, IP66,2-Way Audio, Support Cloud/216G SD Card Storage,Wired

I would like to give some of my opinions and experiences of using this most beautiful very small security camera. I first bought one in 2013. I loved it very much because of this security camera's amazing beautiful picture quality, awesome color with clear video and good resolution. I also appreciate its ease of setup and value for money. Some users loved their inexpensive subscription for Loop video storage, but I did not use it. The camera performed extremely well during both day and night, I must give praise to its night vision capabilities. I got no functionality or connectivity issues. I could connect flawlessly to WiFi. Two weeks ago, I went to trip, came home found out the camera stop working but I also noticed Vimtag is having a huge sale 50% off, so I bought another one. This is a newer model works amazingly awesome. So I worked with their very tentative Vimtag support team. They are truly the best customer support team spent lots of time trying to help me debug my original camera. At end they shipped a replacement. I could not thank them enough. BTY, this tiny beauty got humongous punch. Check my picture to see how cute they are. I put my mid-size mittens behind it and a 12oz honey bottle for comparison. I use the Cameras to watch birds mating outside and babysit indoors, truly wonderful products to have or gift to friends or family members.

I so appreciate these cameras! They were such a magnificent price that I was able to purchase three, when I had only thought I could afford one! They were easy to set up and mount, and I was able to download the app, insert my SanDisk card, (as I won't require the cloud service, which charges a fee), and was ready to go! The picture is clear and crisp!

I have a total of 4 Vimtag cameras in my home. I'm pleased with the quality of the camera and the customer service provided by the company. I had an issue with one of the cameras I own and was promptly sent a replacement device. I have no complaints - which is great considering I'm a returning customer. It's a great camera to have and the good news is that it doesn't break the bank. I would use this strictly indoors (unless it's covered by some type of shield if placed outdoors.) Setting up the camera was pretty easy - I had it up and running in less than 10 minutes. All of the functions work as expected and I like the option to store videos locally instead of purchasing the cloud service. I'm able to pull up my live feed or go back and view specific time frames without any problems. I will say downloading videos can be a little challenging at times but to work around that I just do a screen recording to capture the videos as I need them. You can download videos but sometimes it can be slow and/or unable to download for some reason and I have to download the video again - which I'm not entirely sure if it's the cameras fault - it could be my internet connection. I have MANY devices connected to my home network! You can program the camera to record when motion, sound and/or humans are detected and it's pretty accurate. You also have the option to put the camera in sleep mode so it disables viewing until you disable sleep mode. You also have the option to password protect the camera so only those with that password can access the camera and its functions. There isn't a lag that I can see on the camera - maybe a second or less so it's really accurate. That really depends on your internet speed, connection, location of the device, etc. Overall, this is a function packed tiny little camera that doesn't take up much space but does it's job. It's affordable, customizable and practical - this is definitely a good buy!

Update June 2023: I had the camera running for a while, and it works beautifully. But, yesterday I wanted to preserve a video saved on the SD card. Please be careful if you want to save your video to a later use and/or storage, as it is not so easy and intuitive. I have a dash cam where I remove the SD card, and either swap with a new card, or download what I need and reinsert. But not this on this VIMTAG camera ... The camera formats the SD card once you insert it. Also, once you remove the SD card, the partition is corrupted and cannot be read. So, if you want the video on the SD to be preserved, you need to download while the SD card is still in the camera on the device you have the VIMTAG app - in my case my phone - then transfer that download to a safe site. It seems that there is not enough quality testing done on this device. Bummer, because it's such a great little device otherwise. <><><> Purchased this for $19.99 and ended up purchasing 3 total. The camera has a very good image, great motion detection, and can see in the dark through the window!!! I installed it inside the front window and it can capture cars and people going by at 25+ feet away. I am also happy that I can capture the neighbor's numerous cats prancing by at night. The motion sensor picks them up and the motion light activates. I took away one star because I put a question - two actually - to the vendor how to use a power bank - battery or solar rechargeable - and received the same response that it is for power plug only. However, one user did mention that he was walking around using a power bank, but no other details. I want to capture the house - hence 3 purchases - during a hurricane - which lasts about 5 hours in total - to see if my neighbor's stuff breaks my windows ... So, if anyone has any ideas, please upload your set-up. By the way, in the testing mode that I have now, 24 hours continuous recording lasts more than 1 week for a 64 GB drive and more for the 128 GB one.

This camera is so inexpensive, I didn't expect much out of it, but I was very pleasantly surprised. I use it to watch the very skittish stray cats that I feed on my patio. The camera and phone software worked perfectly straight out of the box. You could buy 10 of these for the price of one brand name security camera.

Overall this is probably the best camera for the price. Which is why Im giving a 5 star. I will add some pictures. Pros: crispy and vivid video, affordable, sound is good for front door. Playback video is good and clear. Easy to mount. Night Vision is decent able to make out everything except no details like facial recognition or texts or letters. Cons: wifi lags in live view. FPS is glitchy on live view. Fast moving objects are a bit blurry in live view but playback is clear.. Cant see license plate more than 15 ft away. Also does not do well where there is sunlight and shade mixed. Picture gets pixalated as seen at the front door pic I uploaded. But like I said overall it's a good camera for the price. I bought 100 dollar cameras and this one beats the quality of the more expensive ones. Durability i still dont know since I have not had them long but these are hard wire so you dont have to worry about battery life.

Video is good but the app could use some love. It’s really a shame these Chinese cameras all use apps instead of having dedicated nvr because the apps leave so much to be desired and really limit functionality. Also this camera has the time set to China time! Is a full day ahead( also am instead of pm) of eastern US local time and it appears there’s no way to fix it in the app settings! Also you can’t pinch to zoom in live view but you can when viewing saved recording which is just weird. Also, switching to wide view is finicky, sometimes it works when just tilting phone sometimes it needs to r done manually and sometimes the change causes the app to send you back into the camera selection screen. It’s a real shame and now I can’t return because it’s past return window. Oh well all least it was under $20.

I've been looking to test some simple WiFi cameras for a while and this one showed up super cheap. It comes with a long USB cord and a wall adapter (USB-A), so it gives you some good flexibility for placing it. I'm using it with a free version of AgentDVR, and it works fine. I import it as an ONVIF device (you have to turn on experimental support on the camera first). It brings in two RSTP streams: 640x360 for live, and 2560x1440 for recording. This camera generates a new stream address regularly. AgentDVR handles this, but not all DVRs do, so check with your DVR settings first. Most RSTP stream addresses are fixed. I pass the time stamp and location through the camera, but I do all detection on the DVR, so the camera is basically always on, but it's up to the DVR whether to record or not. This gave me exactly what I wanted for $10. Setup was very easy. You can scan the QR code on the camera with your phone app, but I didn't even have to do that. The app discovered the camera on its own. It's 1440p and works on 2.4 and 5ghz WiFi. The comparable Tapo camera is 1080 and only works on 2.4ghz. Just watch out for the potential ONVIF/RSTP issues, otherwise it's a good buy.
