クライスラー300C用に購入。当該車種のキャビンフィルターの選択肢が少なく、国内流通も限られて購入に時間がかかるため、思いきってK&Nのものに。エンジン用のエアフィルターは以前からしようしていたので、どのようなものかは大かた想像はついていたものの、なぜか日本では正規輸入されていないのが気になっていた。 取付後の感想としては、通常の活性炭入りタイプと比べ、前を走るディーゼル車の排気ガスの臭いとりは若干甘いものの、エアコンの風量やとり込む外気の浄化に関しては問題なさそう。他のフィルターに比べてほんのりとフィルターの薬品らしき匂いがするが、個人的には気にならないレベル。何といっても効果が弱まれば洗って再利用できればいいというK&N最大のメリットは、キャビンフィルターを早めに交換したい身にはありがたい。 あとは四季を通じて問題が発生するのかどうか…

Es evidente que los filtros k&n son una mejor alternativa a los tradicionales filtros de papel. Ya no hablo de que supuestamente mejoran el flujo de aire o son más efectivos, sino que simplemente no tienes que estar reemplazándolo y tirándolo a la basura cada x kilómetros.

I have quite bad nasal allergies. So my home and my car are the only sanctuaries I have where I can breath clean filtered air in peace. I change my filters often because I run my air non-stop. The cheap paper replacement filters I've been buying all these years are flimsy and don't seem quite up to the task. Plus at $15 a piece, they quickly add up. Behold, this high performance reusable filter; my prayer has been answered. I have had numerous other K&N performance filter products in every vehicle that I own. So naturally I had high expectations for this filter. I've only had this installed for a few days. But here are what my first impressions of this product. This filter is the EXACT shape of the plastic tray that came out of my Lexus' blower unit. The slight taper on the rubber sides even clears those little hooks formerly used to secure the paper filters in place. This filter fits snug. I expect no blow-by's, which is good. When I first turned on the air, there was a funky plastic smell. It was probably the smell from the rubber, but it quickly dissipated and did not bother me after that. My nose has been happy so far. That is a clear indicator that this filter is doing its job. This alone is worth the money. But just out of curiosity, I measured the airflow from the air vents with my anemometer. Indeed, I recorded a 1.2ft/s to 1.7ft/s increase in air velocity coming out of every vent vs. the old paper filter that I ditched. This is great because now I can move more air faster on those hot days requiring MAX AC. Or turn the fan way down for some quiet cruising when I don't need all that air. One thing however, is that I can not find any indication of the MERV rating on this filter, either on the packaging or K&N's website. Anyone with allergies will want to know if a certain filter will screen out the specific types of allergens he or she is allergic to. The MERV rating is perhaps the single most important spec for any filter, which will tell the user that information. Numerous of my email inquiries to K&N's customer service and PR department over a period of a month had been ignored. And that's the most frustrating part. This product may receive a 5-star rating from me, but K&N's customer service department receives a big fat zero. So I took a $40 gamble and bought this filter anyway without knowing it's efficiency. It has been working out for me so far. I'll buy the cleaning kit also to clean this filter in 6 months, then update this review if anything changes. Update 10/19/15: Still 5 stars! On several occasions, I purposefully followed some smelly diesel trucks with my vent open to the outside air. And I'm happy to report that this K&N filter is able to filter out the stink of diesel exhaust. I used to drive my car with my air on recirculate all the time because I hate the smell of diesel exhaust. Nothing is worse than having to endure the fumes while I'm already pissed off sitting in traffic. Now at least I have the option to swap out the air in my car if I want to. This product may actually help to preserve my ZEN and curb road rage. This leads me to deduce, that this filter probably has a MERV rating of at least 10; because that how fine a filter needs to be in order to filter out automotive emissions. Having made this new observation, I feel even better about my purchase, and I can now breath a lot easier. Pun intended.
