I was a little concerned from other reviewers about the quality of this item, although at any time I may simply return it for a refund. But I really wanted to have it. Anyhow, the good news is....it is a very nice item. The leather seems to be legitimate leather, people. It's just the same thickness as most leather products I've purchased. It IS very dry, I will say, but not so dry that it will crack as one reviewer hinted. It is pliable enough to flex. I took a wet finger and rubbed intensely on the inside of the cover to check if it wasn't a very convincing paper product, but since it did not pill or chafe away after brutal rubbing, I am satisfied that it is actual leather. Now....the embossing is very nice.It looks just like it represents on the photo, not so pronounced but well stamped and unless you take an iron or some kind of burnisher to it, it will keep it's impression. The clasp is just as expected, the rivets are plenty secure , I pulled at them to see if they wanted to peel away and no....they were well anchored to the cover. The paper feels like nice cotton 70 or 90 pound art paper. This is a very good thing. It will make a very handsome sketchbook for any student, or a really pretty journal. The paper is not ruled but there are ways to manage around that. It's the size of a large paperback novel, so it should fit into any hand or book bag easily. There is nothing for holding a pen but that isn't important. You know....as I look at it and think , this would make a spectacular photo album. If anyone still has photos that is. I really like it. I'm trying to resist the impulse to buy three more. I think it will look awesome on any bookshelf. I'm satisfied with the journal and the price. thank you.

I really love it and have already begun to use it daily, it’s real leather so vegans and animal lovers beware with that being said the dye on it does rub off at first and will stain any item of fabric it comes into contact with. So what I did was grab a wet cloth and rub all over the book a couple of times and the excess dye came right off. The papers are amazing and you have a lot they have no lines and it’s just empty paper good for sketching painting with acrylic I haven't tried it yet but I believe the paper will be good for watercolor as well or taking notes. they are bended because it’s to thick for the actual binding but with the little latch the book stays closed and your paper inside stay secure I don’t recommend and charcoal on it it because sometimes you have push and adjust the paper so the latch can stay on at times after you have written on a couple of papers. I mean more than 20. It’s great I love it and it’s everything that wanted and needed✌🏻

So 4 star because the photo looked red so I thought the leather cover to this journal was red, but I really like it a lot. The leather is hard and well made and pages are clean lifeless parchment style paper. I'm very pleased. Just wish it were red ❤️

The journal is absolutely beautiful.

This is how a journal should be made. It is like a tome from yesteryear rather than a diary. The outer cover is etched with beautiful designs, bound together by stitching and kept closed by a very artful clasp. Just holding this item in your hands feels great. The pages inside are high quality and write well. I even bought a special pen just to make journaling more "official". If the manufacturer wanted to add even more class and authenticity to these exquisite diaries, I'd say make the pages grainy or faded, as if found in an old treasure box under the sand somewhere after hundreds of years. But that is merely a trifling suggestion next to how beautifully made these are. They feel like they are from another century. I loved my first purchase so much I bought another one with the lion/gryphon profile for a separate journal topic and I think I'm going to buy them all. If you don't journal, it will make an impressive gift to anyone who appreciates hand-made art.

structure is not very sound but it's cute

Appears to be genuine leather. Well constructed, the pages are strongly stiched in and straight. The first and last pages are slightly dirty from the leather and does have a small odor, maybe from the staining but overall it's worth the price if you want a vintage looking journal.

I'm very happy with this purchase, really nicely made and has that authentic handmade vibe to it. Really good quality paper too, love the clasp and leather detail. Would buy again as a gift for a friend.

Me súper encanto, el material es bueno, se ve rústico Justo como lo quería, me gustaría que fuera un poco más grande pero es gusto personal, el tamaño está bien, ni muy grande ni muy chico. Lo volvería a comprar, el precio está bien, aquí en mi ciudad lo mismo me costaría el doble más o menos.
