DIY Plow Resistant Mailbox Post Hardware kit - Stainless Pivot - Standard

It takes a little time to drill the holes and cut it to the specs but if you follow the directions it's easy to install. All the components are quality and seem durable. And the manual is amazingly detailed. Totally worth it since my mailbox has been knocked down once by a snowplow and twice by combines. 10/21 UPDATE: This thing is still holding up great after about 2 and a half years. No rust, very little wear and tear. I shoot some WD40 on the rotating parts about twice a year. Great product, get it if you're in doubt!

Hardware appeared very heavy duty. Really needs to add a video to show how item operates as cost to return was $10. The actual function did not serve our specific need.

I live on a road with heavy farming and logging traffic. I have gone through 9 mailboxes and 4 posts in 15 years. I am hoping that this will be the last time. I had to have someone install this. Directions were a little confusing.

This kit is far superior to most things we buy today. The hardware included is first rate. The ends of the stainless steel cable have rubber tips, the main bracket nicely welded and finished, included wood screws are of high quality, and the instruction book is incredible. Nothing is left to guess. As an aid to drilling a hole into the top of your pole, a bubble level that rides on your drill bit is included. You'll need to supply a few common drill bits, as large as 7/16ths, basic hand tools, and the ability to saw a 4x4.

Awsome product! I would recommend this for anybody looking to make their mailbox last thru the winter. Looks great too!

Just what I was expecting

First spring in many years that I am not doing mailbox repair. It's only made it thru 1 winter, but I am impressed by it's strength and quality. It took some time to assemble, sure, but I highly recommend it if you deal with annual mail box repairs due to snow plowing.

Nice look easy to install. Not sure how to lock it in place to the side.
