Great product! Makes the job easy.
This tool works really well. Bits seem to be tough enough to last for a while. I cut out 5 spot welds with no problems and the bits don't seem to dull down. I used chainsaw bar chain oil for cutting. But use any cutting oil. There's plenty of extra cutting bits in the kit. When you cut your spotweld, predrill a little dimple beforehand. This gives a spot for the pin of the tool to stay centered. The pin is spring loaded so just push down when ready to cut. I used a 1/16 drill bit. Have fun.

Great product
works great, one bit lasts about 50 spot welds, worth the money.

A man's man tool
Works very well so long as you keep the center high carbon steel nail sharp to prevent travel over the weld before the cutter teeth dig in. I sharpened the nail once on my bench grinder. You can cut a significant number of welds with the same cutter without changing. Just keep significant pressure on the surface so the cutting teeth can do their thing. It's impossible to spot the exact center of every weld but you will still be able to create a decent hole and can peel the old metal off of the weld. You could create a shallow pilot hole at the center of the weld with a regular drill bit so the cutter will be more perfectly centered. None of the spot welds I cut were in a perfect predictable pattern as if the robot welders on the assembly line were under the influence. I thought those assembly line robots were supposed to be superior to the human welders they replaced? NOT!

Much needed tool for Auto body repair work
This is a cutter to remove spot welds. This is often used to take damaged auto body panels apart so a new repair panel can be welded in. If this is hard to imagine, it is much like removing a Pop rivet, or a blind rivet however you call them. In that case one drills off the exposed part of the rivet with a oversized bit and then sometimes needs to tap the remaining portion out with a pin punch. This is like that in that the metal around the spot weld gets cut out, allowing the parts to be separated when all the welds are gone, perhaps with a air chisel and flat bit. This works well on auto body steel as shown in the video and comes with several replacement cutters, each of which are reversible for many many weld cuts per package.

Sharp, durable and priced right.
These spot weld cutters were a much better quality and price than previous ones I purchased from Harbor Freight.

Easy cutting
Worked well, glad to have the extra blades. 1st time used one and cut a bunch of welds before it wore out. Definitely will buy more soon to make cutting welds easier

A good cutter if you pre drill
Seems like you need to pre drill a pilot hole or it will walk. I pre drill and works very well. Spring could be stronger for easier use.

These are awesome, see pics. Use a good lubricant like cutting oil or ATF which I use. Very sharp.
These are awesome, see pics. Use a good lubricant like cutting oil or ATF which I use. They are Very sharp. One cutter side and removed two inner fenders from a 72 plymouth Duster 340 and it’s still sharp and haven’t used the other side yet. That’s at least 100 welds. Cuts very fast so if you don’t want to cut through the back side or structural side if it’s to be welded against as in my case then I suggest go slow and take your time. I don’t spray or drip oil while I’m cutting instead I use a cheap generic ATF fluid in a cup or any trans fluid and dip the entire tip every 10-20 seconds. If you see smoke it’s time to cool it down and dip it In you choice of cutting oil or as I suggest and have done for decades, ATF They arrived promptly and in a nice little plastic case to stay organized. Restoring another mopar and will be removing the full floor, full trunk, roof skin, quarters and inner fenders and I think these will last the entirety of my spot weld drilling for this project. With some left over. Can’t beat that many spot welds at this very reasonable price Very highly recommended Pls find my review helpful if it is, thanks so much and enjoy your new spot weld cutters.
