Q: does the colored oil put off a colored flame or is the color just for show in a glass container?

It's just for show. But it does look terrific. Flame is the same color as any normal flame from clear oil or a candle.

Q: Does the colored oil stain it's vessel? My sis bought me a beautiful elephant oil candle . Its clear & would love to try a color dont want it stained.

No It does not stain the inside of a glass container. It might stain fabric but I have never had a problem. I have been using blue oil it my antique lamps for probably 20 years. the bottom of them holding the oil is clear so this adds a lot.

Q: why is colored oil higher than clear oil

I have found the same to be true. The color may be proprietary, since the flame doesn't burn the same color as the oil.

No this is lamp oil it is flammable. It is intended to be burned in an oil lamp. DO NOT use this on your skin!!!
