Micro Converter BiDirectional SDI/HDMI/PSU

This cross-converter was purchased for professional use in live event, audio visual setups. This item will be used to convert SDI signals to HDMI signals for video destinations (monitors and projectors) or for HDMI video source signals that need to get to an SDI destination (video switchers, recorders, or professional video monitors with SDI inputs.) The converter is plug and play without any dip switches or manual configuration to set source signal type and destination signal type. Build quality is good. It is sturdier and better constructed than the Decimator MD-LX. Connectors are solid though the power supply could use heavier shielding on the cable. The device has a power light to indicate it is active. This item can be used with confidence that it will perform reliably on an AV setup.

Used it to stream with. A tool so necessary using sdi broadcast cameras from 2010 to convert to hdmi switcher. Excellent, and has always performed well.

I am using this for a movie shoot to convert HDMI signal from the camera mounted on the jib (HDMI) to the director's monitor (SDI). As soon as I've plugged in a USB power to it (I've used USB power bank battery) signal just goes through as expected.

I was using a Windows 10 computer to record and distribute video to multiple locations. Some complexity to configure dual audio outputs as well as multiple "monitors" or HDMI outputs, one of which is for distribution to other rooms in the facility. I couldn't get both video and audio configured using this device in the circuit. I did test a very simple HDMI conversion and extension and it worked well with only the single monitor system.

I didn’t believe this adapter would work as well as it does. It is plug, play, and walk away!!

Im Zuge eines Livestreaming-Setups wird für mich teilweise die Konvertierung von SDI- und HDMI-Signale, oder umgekehrt, nötig. Dieser BiDirect-Konverter von Blackmagic schafft das zuverlässig. Einfach an den Netzstrom anschließen, die jeweiligen Kabel einstecken, das war's. Einer von drei bestellten Konvertern versagte jedoch seinen Dienst. Ein klassischer Gewährleistungsfall, der jedoch in der Abwicklung einige Probleme bereitete. Der Verkäufer, "Technik-Zirkus" (VSH Medientechnik Furtner), versuchte zunächst, seine Verpflichtungen als Händler auf den Hersteller abzuwälzen und erklärte, ich könne das Gerät einsenden, man werde es überprüfen und - sofern zutreffend - als Garantiefall abwickeln, wobei ich jedoch zu beachten hätte, dass - sollte der Defekt nicht als Garantiefall anerkannt werden - man mir eine Servicepauschale in Rechnung stellen werde. Ich musste erst mit Deutlichkeit den Händler auf seine Gewährleistungspflichten hinweisen, bis dieser schließlich bereit war, ein Rücksende-Etikett zu übermitteln. Als ich mit diesem dann im Paketshop stand, stellte sich heraus, dass das Etikett nicht zum Paketversand geeignet war; ich musste also unverrichteter Dinge fahren, die Sendung selbst frankieren und bezahlen. Diese Kosten wurden allerdings in der Folge durch den Händler ersetzt, und daran anschließend ein Ersatzartikel übersandt. Mein Fazit: mit der Leistung des Signalkonverters bin ich grundsätzlich sehr zufrieden, und ich würde dieses Produkt jederzeit wieder kaufen, mich dann aber definitiv für einen anderen Händler entscheiden. Technikprodukte können einmal versagen, davor ist niemand gefeit - doch dann sollte der Händler auch prompt und unbürokratisch für die richtige Abhilfe sorgen, anstatt - wie es mir erschien - sich elegant aus der Verantwortung ziehen zu wollen, sofern ein Kunde nicht über die rechtliche Situation klar Bescheid weiß.

I am using this product for the last 3 months for my personal use. Actually I have used this one previously before buying for personal use, I used it for office purposes. Blackmagic Design products are awesome and the best. This converter works perfectly and you won't find any generation loss in video quality. The build quality is superb.
