A great way to revive old clothes
I was really impressed with this fabric dye. I had some shorts and trousers that had faded over time and were starting to look old and tired, so I thought I’d give this a try rather than replace them. The colour that came out was fantastic and really brought the clothes back to life. They look refreshed and almost like new again, giving them a whole new lease of life. The colour was rich and even, and the results were better than I expected. The picture doesn't do them justice. The instructions were very easy to follow, and I particularly liked how straightforward the whole process was. It was so much easier than I anticipated, and being able to use it in the washing machine made it really convenient. It didn't leave any residue in my washing machine so I was able to use it afterwards, once the process had finished.A great way to revive faded clothes rather than throwing them away. I’m really pleased with the results and will definitely use Dylon dye again.

Brought my clothes back to life
I used this DYLON Intense Black dye pod to refresh some faded black clothing, and the results were excellent. The colour came out rich, deep, and even, making old clothes look almost new again. The instructions were easy to follow, and using it in the washing machine made the whole process simple and mess-free. The dye took well, and the finished colour was consistent across all the items I dyed.Overall, a great product that delivers impressive results. Excellent value for money and a fantastic way to revive tired-looking black fabrics. Would definitely use again.

Great idea for restoring worn or dull colors on some types of clothing.
I was looking to recolor some stuff that was looking pretty color worn, so i decided to try the Dylon Grey washing machine pod. You get enough dye for 600g, that is essentially one pair of trousers and one shirt, or say a few smaller items. I picked the grey, because it was the closest color to my faded trousers that I could get.Preperation is fairly simple, you wash the clothes first (unless they require a pre dye solution), then add the dylon pod to the wash. Select cotton 40 degrees and let the pod wash the clothing. Once that is done, depending on washing machine time, you will need to then rewash the clothes again in normal detergent. Hang up to dry, do not use a tumble dryer for this process. You then need to wash the machine again empty, to make sure you have removed any remaining dye. There are many variables to a successful dye wash, one being the material is suitable for the dye, the color. The wash time for the machine can vary considerably for a full forty degree wash, can take as long as three hours. It is not recommended you use any eco wash load cycles either.I had a successful outcome, both clothes (trousers and hoodie), (which had color worn wear marks), looked better and should last a few more months longer. I was impressed at the results on these fabrics. There was no color patchiness I just let the clothes dry naturally. The pods are reasonably priced and very good value if you want to try and save a piece of clothing that is materially dull or lost some of its color.Something to consider however:The amount of time needed in the washing machine for a forty degree wash for the dye pod can be as long as 3-4 hours in wash cycles. This does not include at least two more hours for pre-wash of clothing before use and then another post wash to clean the machine after use. This time will vary between machines though, so maybe slightly longer or shorter depending on the make and model of machine you own.Pros: Easy to use, comes in a range of dye colors, comprehensive instructions.Cons: Does not work on synthetics, must be 40 degree wash and may require a pre dye wash pod too.

Results to dye for
Reading some of the more negative reviews, I thought this new approach of chucking in the dye within a container would be problematic. Not so! All in one product (no more kilos of salt to buy) & no more emptying out of the dye into the drum - nice and straightforward with less room for accidents. I've been using Dylon's range of dyes for a few years now and this latest format makes it even more simple than the previous all-in-one pouch. To improve your chances of a consistent result, follow the instructions but be aware dirt or soap residues are the enemies to the dyeing process. So I ensure the wash before dyeing is a thorough one, with no fabric conditioner. You could try using distilled white vinegar as a conditioner replacement (useful when you've run out or for towels that you need to stay absorbent), because it helps by neutralising any remaining soap. Choose the highest spin setting your machine offers to get rid of all of those residues. Then, clean out the detergent/conditioner drawer and run another rinse cycle with just water, selecting the option for 'water plus' if your machine has the function to boost the amount of water used in the rinse process. The aim is to make sure there's nothing but clean detergent free fabric.Place the Dylon pod on top of the freshly-washed well-rinsed damp fabrics and follow the remaining instructions for the experience you've been dyeing to see.4 wash cycles (cleaning, dyeing, after dye wash, machine clean-out wash) per batch of clothes is a bit energy intensive, so you might want to wait until you've got enough items to rejuvenate or for when it coincides with your scheduled machine maintenance wash and run a limescale treatment during the final clean-out wash killing two birds with one stone, to justify the 'leccy costs. But, it's better than looking scruffy or throwing out garments and your machine will most certainly be free of germs after the whole process.Several cups of tea later... results were uniform colour throughout.I chose the Navy Blue option (the product picture shot isn't that accurate in the colour shade - it appears online as a denim blue). Results were a nice and deep uniform blue to several items all done at the same time (3 pairs of partially faded navy trousers, 2 casual navy shirts that looked a little tatty and a light blue t-shirt). One dye pod was enough to refresh all the garments to look crisp and close to new again without looking artificially over coloured.I was a little apprehensive worried I'd get blotchy results claimed by other reviewers, but following the instructions which state to run on a 40 degrees cotton cycle, the results were as good as Dylon's previous generation all-in-one pouch, minus any dyed fingers. Trust me, the dye powder can get everywhere if it's mishandled, the pod just makes it all nice and simples.

Perfect black colour, so easy to use
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Brilliant product. Pod is so simple — no mess, just pop it in. Beautiful deep intense black colour, comes out even and rich. Brought my dark clothes back to life, looks brand new again. Faded fabric looks fresh and black once more. Great results every time. Very happy.

Ruined My Washing Machine – Very Disappointing
0 STAR – BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS PRODUCT!Something has definitely changed with this product, and unfortunately I learned that the hard way. I used Dylon several times a few years ago to refresh the colour of clothes, and it always worked perfectly. I never had any problems whatsoever. So I had no reason to expect anything different this time. A few days ago, I used it to refresh the colour of some black joggers. I followed the instructions exactly and ran the washing machine afterwards, as instructed.Unfortunately, my washing machine was left covered in black dye residue. Since then, I have washed the machine countless times with vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. I have manually cleaned the rubber seal and underneath the drum as much as I possibly could, using wet wipes and even cotton buds. Every time I wiped the inside, the wipes were covered in black dye. It was honestly shocking — and at times it seemed as though I was actually getting MORE black residue out rather than less. The worst part was that the machine started leaving black flakes of dye all over my clothes. Imagine putting clean clothes into your washing machine and taking them out covered in black specks. 😩 After two frustrating days of trying everything I could think of, I asked ChatGPT for advice and purchased a Washing Machine Cleaner. Thankfully, that product helped considerably and cleaned the machine much better. The machine is no longer leaving black flakes on my clothes, although I can still find some black dye around the edges when I wipe them. I genuinely hope the remaining residue eventually disappears because I really don't want to have to replace my washing machine over this.I then checked the reviews and was shocked to see that I'm clearly not the only person experiencing this problem. Based on my previous experience with Dylon, I strongly suspect that the formula has been changed. I used this product numerous times in the past and NEVER experienced anything remotely like this.I absolutely DO NOT recommend this product anymore.⚠️ If you decide to use it despite this warning, I would strongly recommend running a proper washing machine cleaner immediately afterwards. It may save you a huge amount of time, frustration and potentially an expensive washing machine replacement.Very disappointing, especially considering how reliable this product used to be.

Blue Dye Spots with Peony Pink
I'm mostly happy with the result of my dye, having dyed a sheet of cotton and a blouse together to make sure they were the same shade. When in the washing machine, I was worried about the end result being patchy fro what I could see through the window but luckily the pink is a solid shade! However, there are these dyed blue specks all over both items. I'm going to assume this is cross contamination from another colour in the factory but this is an extreme oversight for this kind of product! It's not a major issue for my sheet of cotton as when I plan out my patterns I can do my best to avoid these specks, but the blouse I don't think I can do much for other than hope they aren't too noticeable.

Good navy dye , did work .
This worked on my husbands navy faded work shorts , think I washed 3-4 pairs using one pod. Transformation was fab but it takes a lot of washing loads in the machine to want to put a white wash on. I would however use again as it is still cheaper than buying more clothes .

Good colour coverage
Dyed 5 pairs of navy chinos as they were starting to fade, easy to do, no mess. Came out as good as new.

I was about to throw the pants away because they lost color, but I tried Dylon as a last chanc, and it worked really well ! Even after four washes, the color hasn’t faded.
