Uni-Ball AIR Micro - 0.5mm Fine Rollerball - Pack of 12 - Black

I've been a repeat buyer of these for years. They have some unique characteristics that aren't found elsewhere. 1. Variable line width and darkness depending how hard you press and the angle of the pen. 2. Extremely light lines can be made by skimming the pen. Few rollerballs do this. 3. Extremely fast and light crosshatching or filling in...more like a fountain pen. 4. Very reliable pen flow in old pens that have sat in a drawer waiting to be used. One caveat: unlike most rollerballs, this type of pen will happily continue to stain your shirt or pants if it gets uncapped inside a pocket. The ink will flow and flow, and it's impossible to clean. Since it's a cap not a click pen, this will assuredly happen if you use this one as a normal writing and work pen. This is an art pen, not a work pen as uniball sells more appropriate pens for that usage.

15 years later and I'm about ready to Buffet buy a lifetime supply. It is a great writing and drawing pen. The dry time is quick but not instant, so smudging is something to be mindful of. Over the years I've handed out plenty as most people that borrow one like it a lot.

I love these pens. They offer a very smooth writing experience and the ink dries quickly. The feel as I write is similar to a felt tip pen, as is the ink, but it is a roller ball. It's unique and I enjoy it a lot. I got these because they were recommended for people who tend to grip pens and press too hard while writing. These do help me lighten my grip and pressure and reduce hand fatigue effectively for me. The main thing to be aware of is that the ink will probably bleed through typical notebook or legal pad paper. I like to use a thicker paper generally, so this isn't a huge issue for me. If you're a college student using standard notebook paper for note taking, the ink may cause bleeding issues for you.

So, don't buy these used, I got a box full of random garbage pens... But this is a rating of the product, not poor QC Uniball had no control over. The ink is waterproof and doesn't budge when I use watercolour with it; it has a fine point, but is kinda like a ballpoint when you press down, it has a thicker line. Smooth writing, almost as good as my fountain pens, and on e the ink dries, it doesn't go anywhere. It's good for writing and drawing, and the ink lasts quite a while considering how much I sketch.

We nurses are on quests to find the perfect pen. Haven't had much in the way of success, but this pen's pretty good. Bold print, so don't think you're writing anything small on your report sheet. And if you're signing or still writing notes (stone age?), it's comfortable but still will be less-clear writing. It's got a good feel to it, light, not too-thin/too-thick, smooth writing, and ink never leaks/bleeds/smudges (fast-drying, but I'm right-handed, so you lefties will have to test this).

I am a pen JUNKIE. i allow myself that title because of five years in art school. That'll do it. My DREAM JOB would be to travel around the world to test pens wherever in the world they make these kjillion pens that are out on the market...........Anyway.....these are THE BOMB. They are smooooooooooth. The fine fine tip is perfect and there is NO DRAG. That, my friends, is what kills a pen's beauty. The skipping. The dragging. The lack of flow of ink. RUN, well SIT and BUY these. They are one of the BEST out there. If you want smooooth, DENSE INK. Throw these in your cart and stop searching. You have found THE WHOLLY GRAIL. ok. UNI-BALL.....i await your call about a TESTER job. My bags are packed. NO DRAG. DENSE INK. DENSE INK. DENSE INK. did i say dense ink? and.......SMOOTH AS SILK.......... dang, i love pens. Smile. p.s....i lived in africa for stretch of time and i was stuck without this luxury. my parents had to send me PENS. THAT is how serious i am about my writing supplies. HA.

I like this pen as it's smooth, and doesn't smudge. When writing notes for work and need to stop to highlight, no smudging.
