To date I have purchased both the S.W.A.T. and the MTP-6 tactical pens. Because I am crazy about gadgets and being a serious EDC hominid. First came the S.W.A.T. the followed by the MTP-6. Had to have the flashlight. The flashlight is absolutely perfect for its size. I would also add if you were in a dark environment and you applied the stobe light feature it would definitely disorient your foe for the purpose of a distraction. Of course this flashlight is not going to light up the side of a mountain but it will get you down a dark stair well or help you find something you dropped in a dark room. So my opinion is that it is very functional. The build quality of both of these pens is a ten. I believe for my every day carry it will be the S.W.A.T. Just because it fits my hand so well. It is a little bigger in thickness and has a ton of indents and ridges, useful if you need it for the intended purpose.

The initial skepticism went away the minute I held this instrument. The quality is as good at the performance. What I liked was the extra refills and batteries it came with. The light is good as a situational tool. I would not use it as a utility light, rather to save it until it was needed for survival. The pen writes surprisingly well. I would like to see a pen refill option for the space pen which is pressurized. Here the temperatures get sub-zero and I wonder if the ink would freeze or leak. The glass breaker would definitely breach a window and the tools are true to the manufacturer's description. The comments about the pen cap not being able to screw onto the other end while in use, are true. I wish a cap storage feature were present for ease of use. On the up-side, the pocket clip is beefy and may be wide enough to engrave as a gift.The instruction booklet included was a plus. This mini-brochure includes the warranty, product registration and ways to get accessories. The included sticker is a nice touch. The logo would make a great military patch or a lapel pin.A "Wicked-Cool" design by a "Wicked-Cool" company, and Bam! you have a "Wicked-Cool instrument"

Nice pen. Strong. Looks tactical so if that’s okay, then this is how it looks. Accessories are cute. Do I need a bottle opener? Cute. Light is good, good to have. I prefer a less blunt carbide tip are, but I’m sure it will still work well. Pen writes very nice. Good deterrent and offensive weapon. Great price. Recommended.

great size, functionality, quality, & features! fits in pocket nicely & easy to use!

This pen is pretty much as advertised but in practice has a few flaws.When I first got it it I was disappointed to find that the LED switch locks into place rather than being a momentary switch- only on when the switch is pressed. I could see that it would probably be accidentally turned on and stay on. Sure enough, within the first couple of days of carrying it, I looked down to see the LED shining when I had not intended to turn it on. The positive part here is that the light is nice and bright.The glass breaker has a super sharp pointed end. My shirt pockets would not last long with this so I've carried it around in my pants pocket. As you can imagine, this can bring more issues, least of all would be tearing a hole in your pants pocket. For men, there can be more serious dangers which don't take much imagination to assume when carrying around a sharp piece of metal pointed downward in your pants pocket. The glass breaker tip could really use a removable cap. A detachable stylus tip there would be a nice addition to cover the point while adding more functionality to the pen.The screwdriver is threaded so that tightening a small screw works fairly well, while loosening (left turn) unseats the screwdriver from its base.As a pen, the writing is smooth using the included cartridge. It would be nice if the top would screw into the back of the pen while in use but on the other hand, the pen is pretty well balanced without doing so. I imagine it would make it off balance and top heavy writing with both pieces attached, but it would still be nice to have that option.All in all, it's a good pen for the price but could use some improvement in its design.
