Long-Term Roach Control That Works—Subtle but Powerful Solution
As someone who has tried numerous pest control solutions over the years, Zoecon Gentrol Point Source has quickly become a staple in my household. It may not deliver that dramatic “instant kill” effect like sprays or traps, but what it does offer is something far more valuable—sustainable, long-term control by targeting the root of the problem: the breeding cycle. What I Like: • Silent But Effective: These point sources are discreet, with no odor, no mess, and no dangerous chemicals floating in the air. Once placed, you can forget about them—but the roaches won’t. • Breaks the Reproductive Cycle: That’s the real genius of this product. It contains an insect growth regulator (IGR) that essentially sterilizes roaches, preventing them from reaching adulthood or reproducing. Over time, this drastically reduces the population. • Easy to Use: No mixing or spraying. Just squeeze the activator to release the IGR, peel and place where it's needed. I’ve used them in kitchen cabinets, under sinks, and behind appliances. Best results have came from putting one on the wall above our dog food & water bowls, which are notoriously heavy traffic areas. They stay in place and don’t interfere with daily life. • Results Over Time: Within a few weeks, I noticed a sharp decline in sightings. After two months, I rarely see a roach—if ever. I now use these proactively every 3-4 months to maintain a pest-free environment. Pro Tips: • Combine with bait stations or gel if you want immediate results while Gentrol works in the background. • Don’t expect instant gratification—this is about long-term control, not overnight annihilation. • Label the placement dates. Each disk lasts about 90 days, so it helps to keep track. Final Thoughts: Zoecon Gentrol Point Source is a professional-grade tool that works quietly but effectively. It’s perfect for anyone serious about long-term roach control and looking for a non-intrusive way to manage pests without harsh chemicals. Highly recommended for households with kids, pets, or anyone looking to avoid repeated chemical treatments.

Gentrol's discs put all other cockroach remedies to shame
I've lived in a couple of NYC buildings where god only knows what the neighbors are doing, but have had some times in years past when the cockroaches started to creep into my own apartment. I'd tried various remedies from diatomaceous earth to common name brand traps, gel etc. which only slowly or partially worked - along with a lot of time and EFFORT. After many years like this I stumbled across this Gentrol which I'd never heard of before and gave it a try. Within a week, the cockroach problem was eradicated. Once or twice I had to place more of the discs in the kitchen and bathroom after their effectiveness wore off and I started to see a cockroach or two return, but now it's been many years and I have not had to place anymore of the discs. I suspect that the source neighbors must have moved out or learned to remedy their slovenly habits. Gentrol is 1000 times easier and more effective than all other methods, when I think of how much time and effort the other brands and methods take, and how poorly they work compared to Gentrol, on top of the fact that Gentrol is so much lesser known, I just marvel that it hasn't completely taken over the market and put the others out of business.

Best roach remover product ever!!!!
Best long term fix roach killer and removal product. Took about 90 to 120 days for heavy infestation removal between this product and others. This one kept them away though a d now roach free in our house kitchen. I continue to use this product afterwards to break any cycles of new roaches that may come back. Place about 8, throughout the kitchen and dining room area every 90 days now. High value for money. Very easy to install, write on them when you placed them.

Roaches beware.
Back in the spring/summer of 2025. I went to literal war...with a bad roach infestation. After searching and searching for what to add next to my arsenal I found this in a reddit post. And let me tell you if you found that reddit post. They were right. Get yourself a box of these and if you have a small home like mine it will last you a HOT MINUTE you only need one disk per room (depending on the room. After putting these in every room of our house within WEEKS i no longer saw a single baby roach. BUY THIS I am dead serious this was one of the best investments i made.

Pet-friendly approach that eliminates insecticide-resistant bugs
This product is part of a three-pronged approach that eliminated a cockroach infestation that I'd been carrying from apartment to apartment since I first encountered it in Hell's Kitchen in 2007. I'd accidentally bred them with excessive spraying to be insecticide-resistant and they were incredibly tough and resilient as well as horrifyingly numerous, but disappeared overnight when I did these three things. 1) Gentrol point source IGR, one in each closet and several per room, depending on the size of the room. Note: when you take them off (should be replaced every 3 months), they will take the paint off the wall. 2) https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0148W0WOE/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Place bait gel in soda cans, narrow-necked bottles, etc. conspicuously labelled "Poison" and scattered throughout the house with concentrations where there are the most bugs. Leave the remainders of whatever food/beverage was in the container originally. Squeezing exposed strips of gel into places my cats can't get to hadn't worked on the infestation. My cats have not shown interest in the baited containers, but if they did, they wouldn't be able to get into them. I put about a teaspoon of gel onto cotton swabs and drop them so it doesn't touch the sides. I replace them when the mood strikes me and if I see a single bug anywhere, I add or replace the bait in that spot and don't see another one. A bait can nearby also got rid of the ants that had started partying in the cat food I left out. 3) Starve the bugs, i.e., institute a regime of fanatical cleanliness. I wasn't 100% consistent about maintaining this after the first few weeks, frankly, which didn't seem to matter, but I think at first you have to make sure they have nothing to eat but the poison.

Quality and time of product is not the most promising
Been noticing a decline in roaches (which took a few months), but I still see a lot of babies on the sticky traps. Not sure if this product truly works on all roaches or just some. Sadly the liquid inside a lot of these traps have dried out. Not sure if I’ll buy this product again because the results weren’t very promising and for the price for a product that dries out too quickly.

Pricey, but effective.
These seem to be pretty effective! We moved from a terribly infested home and had a professional come out and treat our home, after talking with the tech we learned they used primarily off the shelf items, and this was one of them. Super easy to use, just set 'em and forget 'em for the most part. You get quite a lot, but you also pay a good bit. For good reason, it would seem. Combine these with other treatments like gel baits and you'll see a reduction in no time.

Discs don’t appear to work for Smokey brown cockroaches
After a month and a half, no changes. We have a Smokey brown cockroach infestation and none of the adults have crinkled wings and there are newborn nymphs running around everywhere. Also the discs have no indicator if the liquid was dispensed properly, which is a poor design. We used the whole box of discs and all are the same. We followed the instructions, pressed, heard the click, but the click also sounds like you are breaking plastic, and you don’t see anything so it’s hard to know if it was dispensed or we were just breaking plastic, but it was the same with every one. We set them out in all areas of activity, and we’ve seen close to 50 adult Smokey brown roaches over a month and a half and none have had crinkled wings, thus the product doesn’t appear to be doing it’s job. It’s a waste a money and worthless plastic. In case others are wondering if they have a Smokey brown roach infestation, all ages look different. The babies (nymphs) are black with greyish or whitish horizontal stripes and whitish tipped antennae. The teenagers are reddish brown with brownish bands, the adults are dark brown all over with wings and are great flyers. All Smokey brown roaches are attracted to light, which is different from all of the other roach species. If you want to catch some Smokey brown babies, plug a zevo flying insect trap into the wall. The blue UV light and other dead flying insects attract them and they will get stuck on the trap. We bought the Zevo traps and similar brands to help with our drain fly infestation and discovered a few roach babies there too. If anything changes, I’ll update the review. But until then we will try other methods. Hope that helps someone!
