Alice Cooper
I give this book 5 stars I learned so much from Alice Cooper. Amazing talent! But I admire his will to keep pushing not to give up in life. Examples when the first 2 records didn’t sell Alice didn’t give up, he hit with the 3rd record, amazing how he did something about his drinking he stopped for his wife his family and most importantly himself, I’m not a golf guy by no means but I admire the fact he took on this new addiction as Alice called it and became successful in the sport. Alice if you read this review the most thing I admire about you now is that Raquel Welch wanted you!!! Lol but seriously Overall how can you not admire Alice Cooper he’s still here making music, touring, over how many years and won’t stop! Love this man! Alice keep going to you can’t go no more, he’s help kids in trouble, great family man, and a legend in the rock and roll world! I commend this Alice Cooper! Like theirs only one Elvis their will be only one legendary Alice Cooper!

Alice isn't what I expected he would be ... in a good way
"Alice Cooper, Golf Monster: A Rock 'n' Roller's 12 Steps to Becoming a Golf Addict", by Alice Cooper (and with Keith and Kent Zimmerman), is Cooper's autobiography, covering from his youth to the present day. Alice peaked in popularity in my pre-teen and early teen years, and while I knew many of his songs, he seemed to be a creepy, dark, almost satanic singer. Then, as I got older, I would see Alice on TV or hear of his other appearances off-stage, and he came off as a much different person than what he portrayed while on stage. So, I've always had a bit of curiosity about Cooper and finally went ahead and bought this book. This book covers both Cooper's life and his addiction to golf, a healthy addiction that he claims saved his life from an alcohol addiction. You learn many interesting things about Alice ... how he came up with the group's name (which he later legally changed to be his own name); that what he's doing on stage is performing - the persona he portrays is an act, and do not represent his personal beliefs; and most surprisingly, that he's an active Christian.Golf is tightly interwoven throughout the book, and many of his interesting anecdotes revolve around the game of golf. He quickly became so good at golf that other celebrities were asking his advice about the game, and this proficiency opened many doors to him both in the entertainment industry and in life itself. But it's written in such a way that non-golfers can also enjoy what he's talking about. This is a quick, fun read, and by the end of it, you'll find that Alice is probably somebody you wish you could get to know better. Four stars.

Let the Show Begin!
What a fun ride! Who cannot love and respect this man? If you are successfully (or not!) battling an addiction, I think you will find a lot in here to relate and aspire to. Nothing preachy at all, this was HIS way. If you are a golfer, the reviews by the pros probably speak for themselves. I learned a lot about golf - and it was interesting! For the pop culture fans - this book is a national treasure! There are lots of incredible anecdotes about many, many famous people. I had to pick my jaw up off the book numerous times. Raquel Welch aka Rocky?!?!?! John Lennon Keith Moon Peter Sellers Andy Warhol Jimmy Page Jack Benny and the hits just keep on comin'. The book has roadside trivia bombs planted throughout it. Alice on finally getting radio airplay - "Shep and his boys hit the phones, promoting "I'm Eighteen" to radio. One of the first deejays to play the song was a young jock in Missouri named Rush Limbaugh. Meanwhile, Rosalie Trombley..."The thing that blows me away the most is how incredibly lucky it was that the Alice Cooper band met Shep Gordon and Bob Ezrin, and how incredibly smart the band was to give those two unknowns a chance and follow their direction. If a Very Famous Rock Icon (don't want to spoil it for anyone) and a couple of others had not shown up at a pool one day, or if Janis Joplin had decided not to give a man a fat lip one night, the world may never have known the wonderful band Alice Cooper. It makes my brain hurt, but my spiritual side says that it was divine direction.I want more stories! There has got to be hundreds of more stories inside Alice's brain! Thousands!

Awesome Read
Wow, what a fantastic book with all kinds of rock & roll history from my favorite rock star. Alice Cooper is among the Greatest musicians of all time, right up there with Plant, Lennon MCcartney, and Waters Gilmour because he has always worked his rear off and still does to be the best he can be. This book was a real eye opener to me seeing all that the man has been through. He is a Great song writer and singer and from what I understand, a Great golfer also. This book let me see that there is so much more to golf than I would have ever imagined and after reading it, my wife and I are seriously thinking of giving golf a try. I see the Coop on every tour and I can tell anyone who is curious, this guy puts on the best show ever and I see lots of concerts. All my friends have turned into Alice Cooper fans simply because all I had to do was take them to one of his shows. He Rocks, is witty, funny and a total inspiration. The golfing tips he gives in this book are totally awesome. Even though I have never golfed they make sense. I am so pleased that I purchased this book and I will keep it in my Alice Cooper memorabillia collection forever. Some day maybe I can even get the Coop to autograph it. What a Great Book.

Alice Amazes, Dazes and Hits Fades. . .
Huge fan of AC and golf. Got to see him perform in KC a couple of years ago and it was a top three concert. I’m a musician(not in his realm) and it was AMAZING.The mixing of golf, music and addiction is a surreal and lens-clear look at the total package of what “Alice” is.

If you're an Alice fan, read this book it gives an insight into Alice on & off the stage
I've been a fan of Alice Cooper for 30 years now & this book gave me an insight into the life of Alice. I'm not a keen golfer, so I found the reference to the game not as interesting. But aside from that, this book is very engaging. On the whole..brilliant!
