The best flour to use for a sourdough starter!
What I didn’t know when starting my sourdough journey was that Bob’s Red Mill Artisoan Flour is the ONLY flour you should be using to make your starter. The process of a starter, from what I’ve learned so far, takes roughly 21-30 days to be ready to bake with. I’m on day 4, maybe 5, and my starter is BUBBLY ALREADY! Now, my first starter I used King Arthur flour, and no shame to anyone who uses it, but this flour? Bob’s Red Mill? A GAME CHANGER! If you don’t have it ? You definitely should. 10/10 recommend.

Excellent price for Excellent Artisan Flour
I used this flour to make two fresh sourdough loaves. Bob’s Artisan Flour was easy to use, and the resulting bread was delicious. The 3 pound bag is definitely worth the price, but I do recommend storing it something like the Ankou pop Close storage containers for longevity. I have also used this flour as my turn out flour dusting for breakfast biscuits, and I love the slightly nutty golden sit it leaves on top.

My cottagecore dreams are stressing me out
I impulsively bought this 4-pack because I decided at 2 AM that I was going to become a person who bakes their own bread. The flour is amazing, honestly. My first loaf actually looked like food instead of a brick, which is a miracle. It really does make a huge difference compared to the cheap stuff I usually buy. But I severely underestimated how much 12 pounds of flour is. It is taking up my entire shelf and staring at me judgementally. Also, when I opened the first bag, it exploded a cloud of dust into my face and for a second I looked like a Victorian ghost haunting my own kitchen. 4 stars because the flour is great but now I have to bake until I die just to get rid of it.

Artisan Bread Dough (Bob’s Red Mill)
I’ve tried several bread flours for sour dough baking. This is my favorite, it ranks up with King Arthur organic bread flour. IYKYK!
