seems to be an excellent replacement battery
I haven't been able to ride my Vulcan Classic LT 900 very much this season at all and stupidly, didn't use my battery tender, so when I finally able to go for a ride, the battery was almost completely dead, showing only 8v.... Searching for a viable replacement battery showed several off brand or re-badged types, all running around $60, so when I found this Yuasa here on Amazon, I was quite pleased. The price is competitive and the Yuasa brand name seems to be a good one, so I ordered it. The battery arrived very quickly and well packaged, which included a good instruction sheet. The battery comes with a prepackaged battery acid container that is precisely made to have a pouring spout into each cell. The acid is a precise measurement, having exactly the amount needed. The acid container has a black strip that serves to protect the pouring spouts and then once that is done and the battery is fully charged, the strip is then used to cap and seal the battery. The procedure for filling the battery is clever, safe and quick. The black strip is removed from the acid container, each pouring spout is still sealed with plastic. There is a strip seal over the battery fill holes that you must remove, which is accomplished in seconds. Inside each fill hole is a spike that is used to puncture the plastic seal on the acid container spouts. You simply put the battery on a solid surface, remove the black strip from the acid container, turn the acid container upside-down and align each fill spout with the fill holes in the battery. The spouts will fit perfectly into the fill holes. You then simply push firmly down on the acid container until you feel it "seat" further down into the battery. This punctures all of the seals on the acid container, allowing the acid to flow freely into the battery. It only takes 3 or 4 minutes for the acid to fully drain into the battery and you don't have to hold the container if you don't want to do so. After it had drained, I tapped and shook the acid container to try to make sure that all of acid was gone and wouldn't spill when the container was removed from the battery. Not a drop of acid was spilled. It's a very efficient system. Then, you're supposed to let the battery set for 30 minutes or so, with the black strip of caps lightly plugging the fill holes, prior to charging the battery, which I did. I then attached my battery charger. FWIW, I use the Battery Tender 021-0128 Battery Tender Plus 12V Battery Charger and the Battery Tender 021-0123 Battery Tender Junior 12V Battery Charger for trickle charging all of my batteries and battery maintenance. After 3 years of use, I've been very pleased with these chargers. Charging the battery with a trickle charge took about 8 or 9 hours to complete, which is displayed by a green light on the charger. The voltage reading after charging was 13.5v. After installation into my bike, the motor started immediately when the electric start button was engaged. The new battery seemed to have plenty of power, easily as strong as was the OEM battery that was in the bike when it was purchased. Bottom line is that I'm very pleased with the purchase of this battery. I had considered buying one that was already charged, but that would have added more down time, waiting for it to ship and arrive here. As it was, I had the battery in 3 days and started the engine on the 4th. I have a similar battery in an emergency generator that probably needs replaced. I intend to determine if the generator does need a new battery and if so, will buy another Yuasa, assuming that I can get one that fits.

Great battery and worth the extra day's work.
Great battery, was exactly what I needed. Adding the electrolyte solution was simple, and after a day's charge, my motorcycle was starting on the first time, every time. I hope I don't have to buy another one anytime soon, so we'll see about longevety...

As described and works fine.
As described, works fine in my motorcycle. Many riders share that these are good batteries. I concur. Not at all difficult to ready for use, follow the simple instructions, take your time.

Arrived, I prepped, installed and works perfectly!
My OEM Yuasa finally died after 5 1/2 years. After researching the various battery manufacturers I decided to replace it with another Yuasa due to the warranty (many batteries only had a 6 month warranty), the success with the now dead one, the fact they're made in America, and the many many positive reviews. I was a little concerned with ordering it by Amazon since there were some reviews saying theirs arrived with broken acid bottles. Here's my experience. UPS delivered it with the box in excellent condition. Opening the box revealed a second box which contained the product surrounded with air packs. The acid itself was sealed, then surrounded with a shrink wrap that also appeared to be sealed. It would take some serious mishandling for the acid to leak. This might happen but didn't with my delivery. Then, installing the acid was easier than I hoped for! Remove the shrink wrap, remove the protective strip (seal) on the battery, remove the battery caps (to be used on the battery when complete), align the bottles with the battery, press down and the acid immediately begins to slowly fill the battery. There was absolutely no leaking or spilling of any kind. Removing the acid bottle afterwards also resulted in no spills. This process ended in about 10 minutes. Following the instructions (easy to follow instructions ARE include, contrary to some comments, though it takes a little time to find the English section) I waited 1/2 hour before charging. I left my 1.5 amp charger/maintainer attached overnight and awoke to find the battery fully charged. Installation was a snap though the bolts provided were too short. Another reviewer had mentioned this as well. The bolts provided appear to be 12mm in length. I replaced them with 16mm bolts. The factory supplied bolts were also only 12mm in length but I couldn't "grab" the nut below the anode with the shorter ones. Several reviews mentioned the battery not fitting their application. All I can say is never trust what you find on the internet. I simply pulled the old battery out, noted the model number, and replaced it with the same model number. It fit perfectly and I couldn't be happier!

Spilled acid everywhere on first shipment, Second works great!
Edit: I called Amazon and they WILL replace the battery if it comes with spilled acid. The replacement arrived undamaged, and the battery fits well, has good quality terminals, and after approximately half a year the battery is still cranking strong for quick starts of my 650cc motorcycle (Suzuki VStrom). ---- I received the box on my doorstep, and the battery that says "this side up" is naturally upside down. Further, several of the cells are only 2/3rds full, and the package is somewhat wet. No problem, this is Amazon so use the return option and get a replacement sent to you, right? Wrong! You'll receive the below notification: "For safety reasons, items that are classified as hazardous materials or use flammable liquids or gases cannot be returned to Amazon.com." The battery was safe enough to ship to me, but not safe enough to ship to Amazon? Further there is no refund option, so I'm completely SOL now with a battery I dare not use with such low electrolyte levels. Last time I will buy a battery from Amazon.

If you understand the importance of a good battery then go with Yuasa. I ordered this one my friends Vespa scooter. Keep in mind that all lead acid batteries need to be fully charged at ALL times if you don't want to be replacing them often, mine last for about 15 years on average. I keep all my AGM (absorbed glass mat) batteries on a high quality battery charger/maintainer, I use an Optimate 6 Gold series charger, it has a very good maintain/storage program and uses very little electricity, possibly only 1 watt in that mode. Not all batteries are made the same, my battery tester proves it. Pay a little more, get a lot more.
