Ideal
From recent experience in pubs and restaurants, sherry is not "fashionable" and a request for the same brings a puzzled look. This stuff, like the little black dress, is timeless classic and unbeatable as an aperitif for grown-ups. Dry, some say very dry!

Delicious
Glorious bone dry Fino. Serve (for my taste,I hasten to add), absolutely ice cold. Quite delicious, wether as an aperitif, during the meal, after the meal, etc...! Not a fashionable drink anymore, but ,if you're curious, ditch the Sauvignon , chardonnay, and try this, you won't be disappointed. (hopefully !)

My favourite for 60 years
I first drank Tio Pepe while on a school trip to Barcelona 60 years ago.The British favourite sherry at that time seemed to vary between Dry Sack and Bristol Cream. The deliciously refreshing, almost stark dryness of Tio Pepe in the warm Spanish climate immediately made it a favourite of mine and convinced me of the need to understand the other different types of sherry available and their strengths and weaknessses. It is rumoured to have a limited shelf life when opened, but that has not been a problem as it tends to go very quickly and there are cheaper Fino sherries which don't have this problem. So for a warm summer evening, where you can relax without interruptions, I can sip time away with this by my side, on its own or accompanying suitable things such as olives and other nibbles.Best school trip ever!
