Device would not register.Plugged in about 8 months ago to make sure it powered up. Connected to home internet connection and it was unable to register due to my email address not being recognized as valid. Didn't need it until our office 100M fiber got installed, so I put it back in the box. Trying to setup now (8 months later) and I still can't register it, which means I can't update the firmware and apparently you only have 3 months from when you plug it in to get free firmware updates anyway. Have a ticket opened with Fortinet but not sure if they will send me away because I don't know the name of the reseller that sold it here on Amazon. There is a sticker on my device that shows "Anatel" but they aren't listed as a reseller with Fortinet.Should've just gone with my instincts and bought a Sonicwall. Fortinet doesn't seem to have their stuff together.

Finally a Consumer system that doesn't need to be rebooted! Reliable, scalable, and customizable system!Our issues have always been that previous brands required constant rebooting because of the number of devices accessing the internet (active sessions). Spent several weeks researching for the best possible home consumer solution, and for me I think Fortinet takes the prize. Most important issue solved for me was the Open/Active Sessions (going from 30k to 500k active sessions).Now for a little transparency...this device is not easily configurable even if you use the Wizard. You will still need to reach out to Support and turn on certain features such as DDOS prevention that does not come pre-configured or turned on right out of the box. Spend some time on a security checklist and reach out to Support, their great at remote assistance or help bouncing ideas!Would I buy this brand again? ABSOLUTELY (unless the unit fails on me within 2 years, needs to depreciate)!Would I recommend to friends and family? Already have.Can it replace the common retailer products? Yes and it should in some cases, if your home network is larger than 30 devices. You would be surprised at the number of devices and active sessions the average household could have with all the desktops, laptops, smartphones, tablets, Smart TVs, Apple TV Chrome TV, network printers, security camera systems, home automation, etc...you get my point.Great buy, potentially complex configuration required, but very reliable.

Luego de unos días de uso el equipo se reinicia a su configuracion de fabrica por si solo, no ha valido actualizacion, debe tener un problema de hardware.

Works just as intended. The fact that you get firmware updates right away with a trial subscription is nice, allowed me to update right out of the box (unlike with Cisco gear)VERY easy to configure, I was up and running in minutes!

Use this firewall to secure my home network. Easy setup. Very fast and quiet. Only issue is there is no local storage device. Still good for the price.
