I really like this tool. Ive used whetstones, V shaped sharpeners and roller sharpeners. This is by far the best option for me. This sharpener is really effective and easy to use, its easy to get a nice uniform edge. It works really fast and relatively accurately. The only improvement I would make is to include a some finer than 2000.

The Xarilk sharpening system is an excellent bit of kit. I looked at other makers before deciding on this particular brand. It does all you want compared with the top class systems costing fives times more. Ok engineering standards are not as precise but with a little fine tuning (check out YouTube videos) it becomes an excellent sharpener on a budget price. With additional parts such as rod stops, angle finder it sharpens chef and pocket knives to razor sharp factory condition. I was lucky to buy “as new” from Amazon warehouse and was not disappointed-like brand new. Customer service has been excellent on asking advice and when I had issues with some extra diamond plates I bought from Xarlick, they were replaced immediately. Can’t fault “Mr Xarilk” I thoroughly recommend this sharpener.

It's well machined and works well, mine has minor stuffs on one of the clamps but they're likely to get scuffed in use anyway, everything was tight and fairly well adjusted with only a slight issue with the locking lever of the blade flipping mechanism being very hard to open and close, the grub screw holding the clamp mount was left a little loose to allow the locking lever to be able to open and close but it takes careful adjustment to get the tension right so it's both usable and keeps the clamp rattle free, this grub screw being loose isn't ideal but may be a good thing as long as the thread isn't damaged by the grub screw being loose as it allows the tension to be adjusted to compensate for inevitable wear on the locking lever after a lot of use, I might swap out the grub screw for a longer one to engage more of the thread in the aluminium to minimise the risk of damage, the system is very easy to setup and use and allows for easy stone thickness compensation and seems to maintain the shapening angle when the blade is flipped perfectly, the clamp setup allows for a wide range of blade sizes to be sharpened with enough clearance to allow for lower angles to be achieved It's a very sturdy setup and should last a long time, a little dry lubricant in the pivot ball and on the sliding rod helps reduce friction and should further extend it's working life and with the way it's built it should last a very long time even with heavy use At a fraction of the cost of anything comparable to it's level of accuracy and construction I'd say it's a very good setup for the price, from what I've seen of other sharpening systems and reviews from others with more experience than myself it's well worth the investment

Really easy to setup, it doesn't take much space of storage and easy to repeat sharping angles. The only downside is the screws to secure the blades are sticking out too much for sharp angles like under 15°, so for that you'll need to replace them or shave them down

What a machine....well to be accurate 'apparatus'. After hours of video viewing this apparatus came out tops in my pursuit of decently sharp kitchen knives. I thought I should give it a go and if it's no good...send it back. It is NOT going back. The quality of the engineering and finish is excellent. Assembly and setup is simple if you have looked at the videos available on line. It comes with three decent enough stones to get you started but as my knives were so bad I opted to purchase another set with coarser stones. To get the best out of it you will need an angle finder available on Amazon for a few £'s. Once assembled and ready to 'sharpen' I did notice that the base, while pretty good, did tend to allow the apparatus to wobble a bit so mine is now screwed down to an old chopping board. I've also drilled an appropriate size hole to hold the Allen key used to adjust the fixings on the apparatus. Also it neatly holds the 'all' the sharpening stones and the leather strop I bought to go with it so all the 'sharpening' kit is now nicely located in one place. Would I recommend this? 100% Yes. If you are concerned about blunt knives or just want to be able to sharpen your own knives with a 'smoooth' cut instead of the rough, raspy edge you get from one of those 'draw through' sharpeners then I can thoroughly recommend this.....Get the accessory 'Single blade' 'Y' shaped attachment and you will be able to sharpen anything from a pocket knife to a kitchen Chefs knife......and get them razor sharp enough to slice paper with ease.

Very pleased. Need a digital level box to be able to repeat angles, but most users will have one anyway.

Truly a great price kit, allowing a novice like my self to restore my camping knife to its former glory, and several kitchen knives also. I would recommend either screw or clamp down to a bench before use for safety.

Il prodotto presenta almeno due problemi importanti. Il primo è che affila con due angoli nettamente differenti i due lati del coltello. Il secondo è che l'asta dopo una decina di minuti smette di scorrere in maniera fluida rendendolo di fatto temporaneamente inutilizzabile. Con un po' di pazienza e spirito di adattamento si riesce comunque ad ottenere un filo fantastico ma non è un prodotto che funziona "così com'è". Le pietre in dotazione non durano molto ma uno dei lati positivi è la compatibilità con molte pietre di diverse marche e di ogni qualità. Diciamo che è una base buona ma bisogna lavorarci un po' su. E l'avevo previsto leggendo le varie recensioni, ma è peggio di quello che pensavo.

This seller and company are great , great costumer service , great communication . I recommended them 1000% Update, I’ll leave my original rating below, I had some issues with the sharpener , seller or manufacturer to be more specific got in contact with me, he show me a option to fix my issue , something that they don’t mention or the instructions don’t mention is this little machine has a few different way to tune it, I adjusted the two screws at the back of the unit to stop it from changing the angle everytime I lock the angle knob, I like that I can adjust the machine to my needs this thing is so smooth that you can actually change the angle by hand or with the knob but one you lock the angle it does not move, if you have any issues contact the seller or you could try adjusting the machine yourself if you are really handy. I already sharpen a few of my kitchen knives and a spyderco folding knife . What I like from this unit is that I can use different type of stones, from cheap stones to really expensive stones. I also like that I don’t need to clamp or secure the machine to a table to use it, it didn’t fall forward when I was sharpening my kitchen knives . I have another similar system but it needs to be clamp to the edge of the table, now I can seat in my living room and sharpen my knives. Hopefully the manufacture releases other clamps to use with different knife sizes. Overall yea I do recommend this sharpener , I would buy another one if I needed it to and now I know how to adjust it or tune it to my needs. Thanks to the seller for contacting me. Please discard the review below but I will leave it in case somebody else goes through the same, contact the seller they will help you out I’m a little disappointed with this machine, it is nice, looks well made but but when I chose the angle I want, the locking latch changes the angle by 1.5 degrees , that’s a lot because it’s changing my angle from 20° to 21.5° and even 22°, for those who already have leave the angle finder on top of the blade holder and you will see the change in angle, to use at 20° I had to leave the able 1.5 to 2° lower so when I lock it I will got to the angle I wanted. That’s a little annoying to be honest, is there away to fix it or should I return it ? Hopefully I get an answer from the seller and I will have to return this sharpener

Had to return 1st one as faulty but 2nd iteration works great. Bought a couple extra diamond stones for grit size not provided. Getting the angle right is a bit hit & miss but I also got a battery angle finder & that fixed that. I added a couple split ring collars to limit travel on the rod & a clamp to hold unit firm on bench. I also got a Y-Clamp for doing small knives so now have complete sharpening system.
