Very Slightly Out Of Control!
Excellent FPS, obvious nods to another game 'Alan Wake' plenty of side quests, lots of action with an engrossing story but, as per some other reviews, loading reset takes a long time when the character gets killed and every couple of sessions, the screen freezes and I've had the message ''Insufficient memory to progress'' come on the screen. That would be acceptable if that were so, but I maintain memory frequently and at present, I have over a third of a terabyte in reserve, so there's a possible patch issue somewhere. That being said, taking my star award down a notch, it's still a good, solid game and enjoyable enough, apart from the time delays and x box memory glitch, that I'm not the only one to have experienced, so I'm happy enough to recommend it with these caveats.

Very good game
Wasn't sure what to expect from this game, but have found it easy to get in too, good story and quite addictive.

Dark Souls with guns
If you're looking for a Dark Souls clone but with guns and a weird sci-fi story this is probably for you, but not for me. I like a challenge to an extent but its rare that I actually enjoy grinding like crazy just so I can beat even a sub-boss; if you just go in guns blazing you're screwed unlike their prevoous game Quantum Break you need to be much more tactical and think things through which can be fine at times but I just cba with the grind in this game.

Fantastic game
I started playing this on Gamepass without any idea what to expect. I was in for a pleasant surprise! The controls work very well, allowing you to use your gun (which is pretty satisfying and meaty) and "force" powers with ease - it is intuitive and great fun smashing attacking enemies with a thrown forklift truck!I was playing the original edition, not the enhanced but even so, on my Series S I thought the graphics were very good and, more importantly perhaps, imaginative. I really loved the 1980's Cold War-era feel of the FBC building, it was very atmospheric and different to the usual settings you get in games.I enjoyed the main game so much that I completed it quite quickly (the fact there's a God mode and other ways to adjust the difficulty was a HUGE bonus for me as I love to enjoy a game's story without too much of a challenge or grind). I then went on to buy the Season Pass but, honestly, both DLCs I found very boring and not a patch on the original game. So, in my view, you should definitely buy or play the main, original game, as it's wonderful but maybe not so much the DLCs.

Fantastic game, buy it later
A fantastic game with a really interesting sci-fi story and world. You are given a gun and a bunch of telekinetic powers, both of which grow into a variety of different types of tools as you progress. Overall this leads to a fun and weird experience as you kill a decent variety of enemies utilising things like charged up cannon shots and throwing boulders, you even have to solve the odd puzzle. From a performance point of view, it looks pretty good and runs well on my One X, but I've heard the game has had some framerate issues on the base console. But, 505 games (the game publisher), recently announced that they are releasing and much cheaper Ultimate edition of the game from September 2020. This will include the game, all dlc and a free upgrade to the Xbox Series X when that console released (same for the ps4/ps5 version). If you already own the game (with or without the dlc), you will not get the Series X upgrade. They've been very vague as to why they've done this quoting 'blockers'. This seems like an excuse. The architecture of the next gen Consoles are incredibly similar to the current ones, and are basically PCs. The switch over should be pretty easy, it'll probably be a simple case of porting a higher specced pc build of the game. Proof of this is the fact that the ultimate version will run on both generations, and that the existing version will run without the next gen enhancements in backwards compatibility mode on the Series X. This is a cash grab. It should also be noted that a load of other games from other devs/publishers have been confirmed to have a free upgrade to the next generation, look up Xbox Smart Delivery. If you haven't already bought the game, wait for the ultimate edition for the best value. If you're willing to wait, or don't mind not getting the next gen upgrade, I recommend buying the game in a sale or used, so 505 get as little of your money as possible.
