it all comes down to the type of ear tips you use. assuming you have the right size tip, it's above average. but sound wise in my opinion, kz ed9 have a cleaner sound.

Q: Do these comply with the wired android audio headset specification?

If your question is if the ATEs work on an Android device, l can confirm they do work on my Samsung Galaxy S4. In fact, at half the volume is already loud for me.
