I have two dogs and these work very well for keeping their teeth clean. Yes, they make a mess. Yes, they are cardboard (the product description clearly states that). The mess they make is part of the point and how they work to clean the dogs teeth. If you choose to try these just be aware to watch your dog and that you will have shredded cardboard to clean up in 15-30 minutes. These aren't meant to be long lasting toys and they aren't treats, they are a very simple teeth cleaning product. If your dog doesn't really like to chew on things, these probably aren't going to work for you and your dog.I don't understand the comparison to toilet paper roles in other reviews though. These are closer to the cardboard in a roll of masking tape. It has several layers that when your dog chews through helps to clean his/her teeth.

I order these every few months for my dogs. As many reviews have stated, the rings do not last long with aggressive chewers, but my little guys love them. I do wish there were size options, possibly a smaller diameter ring?

My dog absolutely loved these! He got more from his uncle as a matter of fact! I don’t mind having pieces of card board every where because it makes him so happy!

I have an old dog and she hates having her teeth clean. We struggle with her and since she is old we don't want to upset her much. I bought these rings in desperation. I was shocked with the results. Her teeth went from dark plaque to white teeth with one ring.

My dogs love these and they are hard to find. My elderly dog finds these easier than chewing on bones.

I love the other brand and thought these would prove to be the same. NOT! Most definitely not!I'm referring to the brand with the dentifrice surface similar to an emery board? It also had embedded chlorophyll paste but the emery surface surrounded all areas, including the inside of the ring. Well these are not those and are vastly inferior. Horrible product! Absolute waste of money!!!That being said, they arrived today, looked them over, wasn't particularly pleased with the quality but handed them out to my three dachshunds anyway. All three are miniatures and one is just 8 wks old with milk teeth. Within the first 10 minutes the paste portion was tugged off and within 30 minutes not one ring remained intact, let alone of any use for my dog's teeth. Once they removed the paste layer, which easily pulled off with a couple of tugs, they either consumed the paste or discarded it. However, considering our puppy's age and stomach capacity, I didn't allow him to consume the paste. Once he tugged that off I threw it out.Proceeding along ....Then each dog tore open the ring, unwinding the layers of cardboard so that each respective ring resembles a portion of a Chinese paper lantern. I even took photos as proof, but note that the [upload image] dialog box is no longer available.Aside from the lovely mint smelling glop (described as toothpaste icing) that sits atop on one side of the ring there are no surfaces that will enable a scrubbing surface to effectively do anything for a dog's teeth. Its so called "polished" surfaces are nothing more than smooth cardboard. And that lovely smelling paste was pulled off in seconds.Can't find the other brand I've used and trusted for 2+ decades so I'll keep looking but will never purchase this one again. And I'm puzzled as to why there are so many excellent reviews for this. I note that some of those excellent reviews were made by those without a verified purchase nor an indication as to where they purchased these. I also see excellent reviews for the larger size but again those reviewers appear to positive input, perhaps "employees", for the company. Thought I'd read all the reviews but those were for the larger size & I overlooked the reviews for the small size, which I purchased. The reviews for the smaller size appear to be more honest so I wished I'd taken the time to read those as well.

I have had these a while. I got the small dog ones but still too large for my chi. She cannot even begin to chew it. My 12lb dog can but boy is it messy. Gets little pieces of paper all over my rug. Don't like that but if dental part was on something else maybe it would have worked better for my little dogs. Oh and I have 2 left if that says anything about how I like them.

i bought these as a treat for my dog and to protect their teeth,he loved it, but i was a little dissapointed that is mostly like paperboard, but still he loved it, so, its ok and recommended by his vet
