Almost went for the expensive anker or ugreen ones and even then they didn’t have the performance. I was sceptical but when it arrive I was impressed very very high quality, worked with my monitor and even charged my MacBook through usb c, at 98w and 4k 240hz extreme value for money

I've yet to find something this cable cannot do that it was marketed to do! Display, charging, data transfer are all above board.

Quality piece of kit

The cable failed after less than 1 year of use. I was using it to connect a laptop to an external monitor. For reference, my monitor is an MSI MPG 322URX (4K OLED). I keep on switching between two laptops, a Zephyrus G14 2023 and a MacBook Pro M4 MAX. If that's relevant, the Zephyrus is always connected to its own power adapter, while the MacBook uses the power delivery from the monitor going through the USB cable. I started having random black screens with both the laptops on the external monitor. On my PC laptop, sometimes Windows was freezing as well, until I unplugged the cable from the laptop, then Windows would become responsive again. On the MacBook, the black screens were much more frequent (a few times per day) than the PC laptop. Initially, I didn't know whether it was an issue with the monitor, then I got a new cable to check whether it was actually a cable problem. It turns out that it was the cable. I've been using my new replacement cable (CalDigit Thunderbolt 5 Pro Braided Cable) for over 3 months and I never had any issue so far. I hope this new one lasts longer, especially because it's much more expensive than the Cable Matters one.

Brilliant. At last a usb C cable that works both charging my iPad and transferring data from my camera. USB C may have a. Universal shape, but there are many variations of data transfer speed as well as charging ability. I would rather pay a little more for a cable that wont let me down.

This cable suggests 240W power delivery. I measured the current delivery from USB C to USB c and it came out at 0.5 Amps. Nowhere near the advertised power deliver. I used a different USB C cable that showed 1.5 Amps from the same USB C power port.
