Super cool
Just what I needed when wearing a dress shirt at work with no pocket. I always had issues with no where to put a standard pen, and this solved the problem. Now I slip it into my jeans on the weekends, golf shorts or anywhere this compact gem fits, and that's just about everywhere. It works smoothly, extends to just the right "regular" pen length and writes as well as any pen I own. One review mentioned about skipping on first pen to paper, but I haven't had that problem. Just don't lose it. It is small and easy to get away from you (I did find mine stuck in the corner of a bag I carry.) I would have bought another one if I hadn't found it.

Lamy Pico: A small and trendy ballpoint that writes very well
I had the Lamy Pico in my sights for awhile, but didn't know if it would be a comfortable pen for me, since it's so small. I bought it and have been very pleased. When extended, it's a surprisingly good writer: comfortable in my hand and smooth on the paper. I bought it in matte black, and it's a trendy-looking classy ballpoint, albeit somewhat of a novelty. I carry the Pico in the zipper pocket of a small planner. I bought the Lamy Pico leather case to better protect the pen, but in hindsight, probably didn't need it. The pen is a sturdy little thing.

Love thus pen
Feels great in the hands, and is nice and compact when pen tip is in. Even fits well in lighter pocket of men's denim jeans. Writes fluidly, and I would say it writes somewhere in between medium and fine tip. Great value for name brand pen. Watch out for pen thieves, because this is one that is sure to disappear if you aren't careful.

Pretty great pen with just a few drawbacks
I've owned one of these for several years now, and bought other to give to a family member for Christmas. I really like the Pico quite a lot, although it's not perfect. I'll list some pros and cons, but i'll start with the bottom line at the top: this is a great pen for daily carry and use, it's durable, it's good looking, but the mechanism is a bit finicky and the pen shows damage pretty easily. Pros: Really cool mechanism Nice weight and balance Easily swapped cartridges with a variety of tips and colors Writes cleanly and predictably (for the most part) Small, easily carried and concealed size and form Cons: Mechanism can be finicky, getting stuck or out of sync on occasion Mechanism can also feel rough and grind some, feeling like it wants some lubrication Pen damages easily (taking dents or scratches in the black finish revealing bronze color beneath) Writing is not super consistent; ink flow is pretty good 80% of the time, but this can leave the occasional skip or gob of ink (still higher than most ball points I've used, but it'd be nice if it was gel) Rounded and thick tip can be a little uncomfortable to hold/use/write with if you are accustomed to a smaller/thinner writing utensil, or a taper Overall, take a look at pics and videos. For the most part, what you see is what you get, and I generally really like. Although there are a few problems, I really like this pen overall, and I'd recommend it to anyone.

Great design, great portability, unreliable ink refill
I was hesitant about using this because even though it looks great (retracted) I didn't fully like the look of the pen when it's ready to write. I ordered one just to give it a try and ended up liking it. The function of this pen is quite impressive, something you'd expect from LAMY - and especially Franco Clivio. I'm now going straight to my disappointment with the pen as I'm returning mine tomorrow. The actual feel of the pen doesn't feel as nice as I'd expect or want it to. It almost feels cheap. Even the feel of it when retracting/opening it feels odd to me. I know you're paying more for the design and the compact size, but I'd gladly pay close to $50 to this for a more sturdy feel/design. This can be overlooked on my part, so it's not that big of deal. The main problem I had with this pen (as I've seen many others having with this) isn't the pen itself - but the ink refill. Mine did not write fluidly or consistently. It skipped quite often and sometimes just simply wouldn't put out any ink. I unscrewed it to check the refill and saw ink coming out towards near the tip. I touched it to see if it had any give and it literally came apart which resulted in a nasty little inky mess. I'm not sure if this pen was a return or the ink was a knock-off, but this isn't something you'd expect from LAMY. Unfortunately problems with their refills are quite common, so I'm just sending it back and going to risk it with another color pen of the same model (I prefer the blue one, anyway).

I now have five of these in different colours. Very handy writing instrument without a clip that you can keep in your pocket or handbag.

I received my Pico about a month ago. I'm already a fan of Lamy; I use their Safari fountain pen, and a CP-1 ball point and mechanical pencil set. They are stylish and reliable. I've had the Pico in my pocket for the last month, replacing a Fisher Bullet. It bounces around in my pocket with a small swiss army knife. The Pico is a nice pen. It's a bit fat, but still quite usable and the extended length is fine. It was a bit expensive, but not overly so. It writes well, and it has that little bump with the Lamy logo on it so it won't roll off your desk. So far it's been quite reliable and hasn't shown any scratches from my knife. However, there is one huge upside with this pen. Unlike any other pocket pen I've used, including Fisher Bullet and the Zebra SL-F1 Mini, you can activate the Pico with one hand. This advantage cannot be understated. Just about every time I need my pocket pen it's because I'm not near a desk, and usually I'm holding a notebook or shopping list in one hand, or I'm holding a level and want to mark a wall, or something like that. I don't need to fumble with both hands trying to pull the cap off a Bullet and post it to make it long enough, or hold one end of the Zebra while pulling at the other end to expose the business end. With the Pico, I just take it in one hand, tap the end and bingo -- instant pen. This single feature means my Pico will probably be the one in my pocket from now on.
