If you want a perfect mow, you need to mow everyday or once every other day. This mower is rock solid! Mows better if you go your same lines twice too! It doesn't have a "striping kit, but to be honest- check YouTube it's super easy to configure a DIY one. I mow early, i mow late, i mow in the dark- this mower has minimal sound and easy to maneuverOnly complaint is that it doesn't take to a bumpy lawn, if you aerate and roll twice a year and top dress in the fall to get your yard a little flatter you will have an easier time. Scotts should make a grass catcher ( no idea why they dont) and really should make a specific striping kit as well.Easily to clean, cuts just as good in the rain or on wet grass or early morning dew. I would recommend you mow with a bagger once in a while. Your thatch will increase during the mowing season if you use this on a constant basis.After doing some research on reel mowers, this one was my first reel mower purchase, not using one before and no issues for 3 months now. I will look into getting the reel sharpened in the off season. Western NY has a lot of clay soil with not that great of a PH balance unless you fertilize the crap out of your yard. I have been fertilizing with lime in the Spring and early summer. You will need a lot of lime to reduce the amount of moss early. During the summer dry spell- use some potassium for a greener yard. I pick all my weeds by hand. over seed and top dress in the fall along with mowing short all season long- aerate and lawn rolling is a must!The Scotts mower is real nice. A beginner mower for what will be an expensive hobby in the future, but a sense to know what your lawn really needs to be perfect. Grass needs to be cut, not neglected. Overall - well done with the mower. pick one up- reduce your carbon footprint and make your grass healthy.

I went from feeling like my lawn was too big to feeling like it was too small and wishing it was bigger. The first time will be the hardest or take longer because the grass is the longest. Fine. I liked the exercise. Then every subsequent time you use it, you'll know what to expect from the mower and also have shorter, easier-to-cut grass. The main point, which I must stress above sometimes having to re-mow rows is: cutting your own grass with your own strength and the actual act of resistance walking through peaceful clean exercise is worth more than the mower itself, and makes me enjoy every moment of it, especially seeing the grass shoot out in front of you. I LOVE this thing. Great design Scotts. I like the height range of 1-3inches and I like the quick tool-less height change handle. Assembly was easy and fun: my 6-year-old was great help, and enjoyed it. It is ~36lbs, but that is actually kind of helpful to let the mower feel like it is engaging the grass instead of rising over the top of it or skidding. I can still lift the mower, and the weight is going into awesome features like the front scoop which throws grass satisfyingly in front of you instead of everywhere and on your feet. Also, the rear row of lower-profile cylinder wheels helps you tilt the mower up close to higher borders or just to make a turn (like how a 4-wheel gas mower feels). Pushing this thing is actually super easy and silky smooth. I would say that the best row-overlap to use is 33-50%, or 0% with double-coverage. Also, you know that grass-gasoline smell from gas mowers, this doesn't have that. It also distributes the cut grass evenly in front of the mower, causing it to disappear, instead of blowing it to the side, which accumulates and people sometimes dislike that. As far as wanting a collection bag to dispose of the cut grass, I could care less, and don't personally like that excessive, nutrient-depleting activity anyway.

I finally received this after it was delivered to the wrong address in the wrong state. Thankfully I spoke to a representative at Amazon who solved the issue immediately. The mower was easy to put together accept for the final installation of the handle assembly to the base. It is next to impossible to squeeze it into the fittings. I ended up taking the handle assembly apart and installed it from the base up. Basically I reversed the assembly order. The mower works as promised, is easy to push and does a great job cutting all types of grass. It does not cut some weeds, but that's not a big deal. The blades are very sharp and don't tear the grass. There's no noise, dust or fumes. I get a lot of exercise, help the environment and improve the condition of my lawn all at once.

I’ve only used push mowers that are between $70 and $100; so I was very hesitant to spend $172 (including tax). After using it for the first time I have absolutely no regrets! It’s easy to push, it cuts like a dream, it’s super quiet and very easy to adjust the height settings. Highly recommend!

This mower is great! Heavy duty and cuts easily. Heavy to lift, but thats what the wheels are for. As long as I keep in out of the rain it should last a lifetime!

Oh my,this is so much better than that' American"model I had for several years.This is a nice smooth,18' cut.I'm still getting used to it and it's a little balky turning around but I do like it.Was very easy to put together and is not heavy.

Cut nicely for me twice and then broke literally one day after my return window closed. Despite being heavy and clunky, certain parts are fragile. I would not recommend.
