Atlas of the human body, very consice and very important for Artist and Students!
The media could not be loaded. I love this Atlas of Anatomy for Artist book! In the first pages, have a index with the topics, and a page number. The book call "plates" as the pages and have a consice description of the body parts, and it's a bonus because the information it's short and have plenty images, photos, examples from the Masters in Drawing like Michelangelo. It also has real photos of people and their different gestures, in different positions and tasks, which makes this book very interesting! Each human part is in various positions and marked in color so as not to confuse. The book is not very big, and it is not heavy. I highly recommend it, because it is a good reference to look each part of the human body as you need it. Very good book for artists and students! I don't regret buying it. I love it so much!

Excellent anatomy book
This is an absolutely excellent anatomy book for any artist. The prints are very high quality and excellently rendered. I highly recommend this to any aspiring artist who cannot study from life or just wants a good basic understanding of human anatomy.

Great diagrams/pictures, and a lot of knowledge!
Bought because it was cheap and I wanted to learn to draw more anatomy. I wouldn't take the book 100% of the way, but it's a great start that can help you start seeing anatomy in any of your references. I really like this book. I like working out of a tangible book more than the internet as well.

love it, but its obviously an old book
love it, but its obviously an old book, detailed drawings naked children that would be morally questionable today. I'm not super conservative and have a toddler myself who runs around the house bear bottomed ... I've posed for and drawn nude still life, but these "lineups" bothered me a bit and I can't quite place why. There's quite a bit of nudity in this book actually, specifically breasts at one point lol, but no such close ups of male organs. sometimes the woman's faces are crossed out.... maybe that's why it bothers me a bit... I seriously don't know. get it though, detailed skeletal, and muscular and ligamental structures in this book are invaluable for understanding the construct of the human body beneath the skin... that's about 50% of this 200 or so page book. I do wish they would have gone more in depth with anatomy itself and visual techniques in drawing such things. I would have enjoyed less pure nudity and more of the kind of nudity that would visually explain the muscular structure beneath ... especially in women and children for instance the internal structure of the female abdomen, or mammary glands, pregnancy and so on. If your going to add nudity, a visual muscular explanation for each instance of a line wrinkle or fold would have been more practical... this book fails in that area... and therefore the nudity sometimes seems a bit unnecessary and creepy... HOWEVER as I said a good 50% of this book is extremely useful.

I really like having this book as its focus is on creating ...
I really like having this book as its focus is on creating lifelike action poses. The book includes skeletal and muscle drawings. It then shows how these move when you are drawing an action pose. I found it very helpful when depicting humans moving in a scene. The stop-action (time lapse) photos also allow you to see the incremental changes that occur as the body moves.

Better for older kids or adults
Bought this book for my amazing at drawing 7yr old grandson. But there is some graphic nudity that might not be right for this age group. Nothing vulgar or offensive, but realistic drawing of private areas & adult genitals. Just to help others make informed decisions.

Great Book, Not Great Condition
This is a great anatomy book to have in any figure drawing artist's library. One of the best books actually that I have, and I do have many anatomy books. The figures are very well illustrated and many of them are in large drawing plates. It is a rather concise book, which is nice as it focuses on the main concepts from skeletal, muscular and illustrative figures. The illustrations when placed side-by-side with the muscle diagrams are quite valuable and helps in understanding how to correctly shade the muscle on the figure.Overall, there are 189 different plates covering the entire human anatomy for artists. This is one of the best book that we have at art school as an anatomy reference available for us in the art studio. However, I like it so much I wanted to get my own copy. I bought it used and now I'm regretting that decision. This is the third used books in my library but I'm quite disappointed (hence, the overall rating). The description indicated 'Very Good Condition' and I saw many satisfaction reviews given to the seller. However, the book is not in very good condition by any standard. It came in a very nice plastic tight packaging. With the original book sleeve (I bought the hard cover copy). Other than that, the pages are yellowish color and they do smell like old books. The feel and the smell of the book indicates it was not kept well. The cover is stained from the inside. That doesn't bother me, it is the old feel and smell of the book that do. Even though there are no missing pages, no wrinkled pages or stained pages. It is just was not kept well. Maybe it is my standard, but I would have listed it as "Good" instead.
