Touch Screen Digitizer Replacement for Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 T580 T585 SM-T580 SM-T585 with Tools (Not Include LCD) Black

After the screen cracked on our Samsung Tab A SM-T580, I looked around for places to replace the screen, but most shops are set up for phone repairs. I watched a few videos and decided to try the repair. The tools that came with the kit broke pretty quickly when taking the back cover off the tablet. I suggest using a real guitar pick. For the screen removal, I used a razor blade, along with a heat gun, to gently pry the edges. The sides are much easier to start on. I also used some playing cards, to help keep the sections that were pried open, to keep the glass from sticking back to the tablet. The new touch screen worked perfectly! It is always satisfying to have a first time project go correctly. My suggestion is to take your time and watch a few videos, online, to make sure this is something you can handle.

Fairly easy to install on my Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016. The tools that came with it suck, but are not needed anyway. All I used was a puddy knife, a hair dryer, and one hour of my time. And a couple of YouTube videos.

Big disappointment is no adhesive not installed on it

I bought this product cuz I have a Samsung Galaxy tablet 10.1 Android. When this product arrived I was very happy and I brought it to a computer store. When I arrived I dropped it off and the attendant who did not fix computers took it in and said it'd be $50. It sounded too good to be true. And it was. I went back 2 hours later and he told me this screen cannot be put on any tablet without a million-dollar machine that very few computer- screen repair shops have. So he has to order a whole different part. He gave me my screen back and I have to pay $100 to get it fixed. Do not buy this product it will not fix a cracked Galaxy tablet. It does not include a major part of the digital screen. .And it does not tell you that it does not contain a major part of the digital screen.

I wish the manufacturer would have included install instructions but they don't. And as most everyone else has said, the tools they give you are not good enough to do the job. That said the fit, the glass, the attached adhesive are just fine and my tablet is working as well as it did when purchased. I hope to never have to do this again, but if i do, I would buy again from this source. BTW, the install took about 2 hours and I used a hair dryer instead of a heat gun to loosen the old adhesive. The various videos on YouTube are good enough to get you thru the process. And remember, you really only get one chance to position the new screen down because the adhesive is very strong. Take your time and you can be successful.

Worked fine for me. You won't find exact video on YouTube, but many are close enough. Some tips that I wish I had: 1. screwdrivers in the set are not needed. Plastic guitar picks are very useful for detaching the back cover. Check for SD card. Disconnect the battery. Connectors are zero force type, just lift the lever on top. 2. You will need a dull pointy kitchen knife to peel the old digitizer. Easy on the heat gun - the tacky tape holding the glass ALMOST peels without the heat. Hold the knife flat and not too deep. 3. beware of dust and stuff on the glass and LCD screen. Use the cloth to sweep the LCD lightly. Use duster, toothbrush on the sides. Examine the new part for dust after peeling off protecting plastic. 4. Start installing the glass with the hole for the Home button. Once it fits, the rest will likely fit in. The mounting tape is uber sticky, you won't have a second chance to re-position it if you miss. Don't blame anybody if you mess up - you had a chance to pay $120+ for professional job :-)

Replacing the screen was not bad at all! Your biggest feet will be to Clean, Clean, Clean one little glass shard from old screen would be bad. As you can see mine went flawlessly! Grand Daughter is ecstatic to have her tablet back!

Screen is fully operational after one day of use. Provided tools are so low quality, I used my own guitar picks for the work: Dunlop 0.6mm soft (brick red in the picture), and 1mm hard (blue in the picture). The provided tool broke even when I tried to use gently. I used the real guitar picks much harder and they only show a few scratches on the edge. I could still use them on my guitar without problems. I gave mixed rating because screen is all good, but tools are not. UPDATE: Screen stopped working after half a year.
