Great Season!
Have watched since the beginning. Have always liked this show, but the last couple of years with Mrs. McCarthy was getting a little slow and redundant. And I never really liked Inspector Mallery after the first couple seasons he was on. Turned his character into a buffoon over time. Mrs. Devine & Brenda AND course the return of Inspector Sullivan have helped to breath new life into this show. Of course always lead admirably by THE Father Brown , who also has a new freshness. Yes, the first season with the new cast had some growing pains, but this season was one of the best. We watched it twice back to back!. I loved seeing Flambeau and of course, Lady Felicia .... Although It would be nice to have a visit from Sid and Mrs. McCarthy one day.

Okay!
I have watched all the seasons of Father Brown and I feel the earlier seasons were much better. The writing as a whole was much better and so was the cast. Father Brown is too liberal for the times, people were more conservative in the 1950s and when he talks about forgiveness we need to hear more about it than the same speech he is generally giving to killers. And of course most repent and turn themselves in. How convenient. Overall they are enjoyable mysteries and the DVD has subtitles that are very good.

I absolutely love this series and have all of them! Fabulous but not too dramatic. Great scenes of historic homes and villages, and takes me back in time to a slower pace of life while also giving me a taste of the gritty side of murder!

He is entertaining!
Father Brown is not only a kind priest, he is a mystery-solver who is also entertaining. I have been a fan of "Father Brown" since the beginning, and I own the entire 12 seasons.
