Games to Play with Babies - 3rd Edition Paperback – May 1, 2001

I purchased this as part of a shower gift for my son and his wife as they await the birth of their first baby together. My son, as the youngest of four brothers, hasn't had much exposure to infants, and I wanted to give him something to help him embrace the "fun" it is to watch your own child grow up----and since play is the work of children, I thought this book would provide a good background.It is very well written, clear and engaging, and contains a wide variety of familiar, classic "baby games" as well as many innovative and up-to-date play suggestions as well.It arrived quickly, well packaged, and was reasonably priced.

I used an earlier addition of this book when my sons were babies. It allowed me to more fully interact with them and was beneficial to my sons. I bought this book for my new granddaughter for my son to use while he is on Paternity Leave in California.

I loved this book a lot. It was really entertaining and it helped me gauge what activities are age appropriate or my children.

This book has a lot of good ideas for playing with infants whether they are at home or in a daycare setting. I purchased this book for our infant room teachers. It is a great resource because it suggests activities in all areas of infant development.

I bought this book because I wanted to make sure that I was giving my newborn enough stimulation and I wasn't really sure how to go about doing that with a baby that was so young. It was a bit disappointing. The "games" that you play with newborns in this book were basically stuff that any normal person would probably do with their baby anyhow. Some examples are stroking your baby's face while feeding him/her, singing to baby while changing diapers, telling your baby that you love him/her etc. A friend of mine that thumbed through the book described it to a T when she said it seemed like this book was written for a teen mom who would have absolutely no idea of what to do with a new baby. I wish I would have not wasted perfectly good Amazon points on it.

This is a good book for a grandparent on the go....I also got a copy for my son (things he could do/play with his daughter).I love how it connects various developmental milestones with particular games.

I bought this to try to get my fiancé more comfortable with playing with the baby... the games are common sense to me... and repetitive... needless to say he has yet to pick it up. :( but it is a good book, it is not the books fault he has a lack of enjoyment of reading.... I just wish it didn't repeat itself with games
