Q: How much material do you suggest running through this sluice before clean out?

Give or take, about an hour to an hour and a half running time. It depends on how rich the content is in black sand. The more black sand, the more often you'll have to do clean out. The less black sand, the less often clean out will be needed.

Q: Is the carpet in this sluice good at catching super fine flour gold?

Yes!. It works perfect and it's all you need. Once it's set up right and you run dirt through it small gold gets trapped. I love it!!!!
