This scope exceeded my expectations in many ways. First of all, it is lighter than I expected for the size, which made it easy for transporting and carrying around while hiking and hunting. The next highlight was that it came with an adjustable tripod, lens cleaning wipe and carrying case. The tripod and scope fit easily into the carrying case, making it convenient for me to pack on my hunting trip. The tripod is easy to attach to the spotting scope and has several different options for adjusting and locking the scope, as well as a level. Now for the scope itself. This thing is awesome. Incredible range and clarity. During my hunting trip I used the scope for locating wildlife (obviously), enjoying scenery across the mountain range, and even looking at the moon and stars at night. My teenage son was especially thrilled about using it for looking at the moon – he couldn’t believe how much detail he could see! He was literally counting the craters. We also happened to be camping while Mars was visible, so my son was able to zoom in on that planet with the spotting scope for a closer look. What an incredible bonus! The magnification on the scope is easy to adjust, 20-60x power, and I was able to get a focused picture even with the astigmatism in my eye. I think the large size of the lens helps the scope gather plenty of light for an amazingly detailed focused image. Now that I’m back from my hunting trip, I set up the scope in my backyard to use for observing birds in our neighborhood. I’m looking forward to using it when my husband and I go target shooting with our rifles. It will be so nice to look at the targets through the scope and make adjustments rather than walking all the way out to the target after every shot. I’m very happy with this scope and highly recommend it.

You will need a good stable mount because of the magnification but it's just fine for the range, spying on the "slingers" next door or spotting birds. Easily adjustable and the fine focus knob is great. Bullet holes are easy to spot at 100 yards and visible at 200 and with and adapter pictures come out good. If you want "good enough", this is it. Pic is of neighbors mailbox 45 yards away at 60x with adapter and phone digital zoom at 4x to fill the camera frame. Pic was taken on a cloudy day and that big lens up front gathered plenty of light. Not a $1500 spotter but it works fine.

Glass/Optics good enough to see 30 Cal impacts at 400 yards, and no reason to think that 500, 600+ wouldn't be out of question. Included tripod wouldn't be able to hold a Kleenex tissue steady in a vacuum.

Scope itself is decent. Tripod is complete junk. Wobbles and shakes when a squirrel farts half a mile away.

The ELLTOE spotting scope is a pretty versatile spotter.Little bigger then the basic ones I have used for shooting and glassing for deer.Very clear and easy adjust for the viewfinder and added Sun shade is very useful.It is great for early morning and late afternoon when the Sun makes optics hazy.The booklet tells you good for 1000 yards and I had to test that aspect and could identify cars at 2 miles out.Now have to say the tripod is lightweight and has lots of adjustments like 3 stage feet 360° swivel and a tilt were it mounts for easy mounting and removal of the scope.And added center post adjust to get eye level height for standing situations like bird watching or whatever anamole you you like to scope, for a friend scoping you shots for sighting ease in my case. Even star gassing as the manual shows it works well but the tripod can be shakie at time and was not the easiest to lock down in a persists position. All in all the stand is a little chintzy but for the $ what do you expect got very clear look at the moon regardless.For shooting I used a smaller stand since the mount screw is standard among tripod stands and that comes in handy for what base suits the situation as the included tripod is a bit tall for a shooting bench but the scope itself is great especially with the adjust knob that is on the scope itself that allows 180° tilt left or right depending on dominant eye. At 200y very clear we're you shots hit.And the adjusting eyepiece for people that have glasses is handy for every one from prescription glasses or safety glasses for whatever situation you find yourself.and for clarity and distances this scope reaches its a winner in my book.Great for most applications and hobbies and with the basic carrying case it comes in for easy travel might be a few small things I would point out for a hunting aspect like shock proof for example only due to that is my favorite applications for this kinda product but that just me I would encourage others with outdoor interest to definitely give this scope a try.

I would have only given this 1 star but that would make it look like the scope was garbage and may deter people from buying. The scope is awesome, crystal clear and allows enough light in for a great view.The tripod shipped with this scope is garbage. First of all it is too light to support this large heave scope. It will not hold the scope steady at all. When the scope is mounted on the tripod you cannot see anything because just your breath vibrates the scope.I used my old photographers tripod and the scope tripod combination works great. If you want a great scope and are willing to spend the money on a good tripod buy this.If you do buy this make your first project putting the tripod in the trash!

The clarity of this scope is excellent for the price. The point I kept seeing in the review was that the tripod was not good. Well I have bought sighting implements from several manufacturers and the if a tripod is included it is never good. I immediately put my scope on a US CAMEL tripod that I had purchased from amazon at another time and this combination is amazing and together is probably as good as scopes costing 3 times as much! Our weather has been lousy ever since I received my scope but I am able to glass tree lines that are about 1 mile from my house at 20x and zoom in to 80x even through foggy conditions. VERY VERY PLEASED - sadly for everyone else, I might have purchased the last one.
