Forget the original 'Amelie' - this isn't her even though it is Audrey Tatou
I've no idea why this film is called 'Amelie 2' as Audrey Tatou's character is NOT - repeat NOT - Amelie. If what you hope to see is a continuation of the gentle, naive romantically idiosyncratic storyline and characterisations that made the original 'Amelie' film such a delight, you will probably be sorely disappointed.Audrey plays a gentle shop assistant who bears virtually no similarity Amelie apart from the director's use of her looks, hugely feminine looks and expressions. The film is a virtually unbroken sequence of minor incidents involving a large cast of different characters whose various actions or inactions have some sort of positive or negative consequence for the other characters. This is very much an attempt to personify the theory of the butterfly effect with Audrey's character appearing throughout in various small scenarios. But she is by no means the driving force because - as the chaos theory implies - no single person or action could be so pivotal. Is it a gentle film, as was the original 'Amelie'? --- in parts it is, but there is also a thread of darkness and deception.Does it come to a final resolution or conclusion? --- not really. The final scene suggests that one chaotic thread has ended, but that's all it is - just a suggestion ... and could anything truly end in this view of the world? Is it worth watching? --- who can say? I won't recommend it nor would I really try to steer you away from it because who knows - by deciding to watch it or leave it, your own action may in some way influence the rest of your life or someone else's life or the entire history and outcome of the universe. And that - in a nutshell - is what the film tries to be about.

NOTE this is not related to Amélie
This film is Happenstance (French title: le battement d'ailes du papillon). Amélie 2 was the name given on it’s release in Asia - riding on the back of the success of Amelie. Note however that the year this was made was 2000, while Amelie was in fact 2001 - despite Happenstance being made before, it was released after! This is not a fake. It is merely the Korean release of a film starring Audrey Tautou given the misleading title Amelie 2 for the reason given above.
