Still perfect after 9 years.
I've owned my Wimpy grill since 2016. I have since bought 2 more for my family members. This grill works as it did since the day I bought it. It is always outdoors in northern Ohio. After 9 years in brutal weather it hasn't let me down and still looks the same. I highly recommend this grill. You won't be disappointed.

Love it!!
We absolutely love this over the fire cooker. We have had it for about three years now and it is still holding up. Everyone that sees it when we are camping won’t one for themselves. It is really easy to get set up and taken down. It is also really nice that you can spin the rack while cooking to heal even out the heat of the fire. Definitely worth the money.

Finally - a proper grill for the fire
This is pretty close to what my grandpa used to make... ironically - also from Wisconsin. All those other swing-away ones are junk - this is the proper design for one of these. If it were another foot or two taller, and was built with larger diameter (and thickness) pipes - then this would be perfect - and would fully justify the price.

Well made
This is the best made tripod grill I have ever seen ! It’s very durable, easy to put together, portable and the grill is very large with an edge so food doesn’t fall off ! Love how it swings away from the fire and the height is so easy to adjust. LOVE IT !!!!

Makes cooking over an open fire fun and easy.
We did an all-day cookout with it yesterday for a party. It's great for cooking hot dogs, steaks and burgers over an open fire. I think chicken thighs or cutlets would be great as well. Less so for bone-in chicken because you can't manage the direct heat. The height adjustment is fantastic. The fact that you can rotate it off the fire to add wood or work with the food is magic. No more 3' long tongs and trying not to burn yourself adding, removing or adjusting food. It's solid and well built. I see getting years of service out of it and we will cook out a lot more on our farm, since we often have campfires just for fun. Since we will use it regularly it was well worth the money. Most of the product pictures show a fire ring around the fire. That ring does not come with this unit. I have done a lot of campfire cooking over the years. This makes cooking over a fire easier, safer and more predictable.

Fantastic Grill!
The grill is easy to assemble and only took me about 10 minutes (including the time to pound it into the ground). The grill includes the pole that goes in the ground, the arm that swings the grill and the grill with chain (purchase your fire ring separately). The design is genius - you can swing the grill away from the flames to to turn or move your food, so you don't get a face full of fire and smoke or burn your fingers. There are two convenient hooks for hanging your grill tools on the post. The chain doesn't get hot, and it stays well in place by the notch in the pipe. Quite easy to maneuver and sturdy, too - held 2 steaks, 2 corn on the cob and 2 shishkabobs easily with room for more - very good size. I prefer the taste of food cooked over a wood fire, and this is easier than a barbecue. Clean up is simple - the grill disassembles fast. I bought mine for my backyard, but this set would be easy to take on camping trips, as well. I highly recommend this grill! Mine arrived a day later than anticipated, but the folks who are selling this are the ones who make and ship it and they responded immediately when I contacted them, and the holiday weekend is likely why it was a day late - very nice people! Check out my photos above.

Absolutely worth it1
OUTSTANDING! Just got done setting mine up and using it for the first time yesterday. I won't repeat everyone else's comments except to say they are spot on. The upright rod is really solid, so don't be afraid of using some force to drive it into the ground. I did put a piece of 2x4 on top of the rod to protect it from mushrooming as I pounded it in with a sledge hammer, though. The entire assembly and set up literally took only minutes. Very well made and a great concept. Delivery was fast. Outstanding value for the price. No, you are not going to manage 50 pounds of meat on the grill, but that's not what it is intended for (although I suppose you could steal the developers concept and scale the whole thing up if you wanted to build your own). I could have easily fit 15-20 burgers on this grill along with an aluminum foil pack of bacon all at the same time. I would definitely recommend this grill to others.
