Vsmart V5i Smartcast Wireless HD 1080P Display Dongle Support DLNA Miracast Airplay Mirror for Iphone / Ipod / Ipad / Mac - White

I purchased the Vsmart for use with my Apple iPad and my wife's iPhone 5. I previously purchased, from Amazon, the Actiontec Miracast device for my Android phone and my Android tablet.The Vsmart makes it easy to display what is on your devices screen via Miracast on some Android Smart phones or tablets and "mirror" late model iPad and iPhone screens onto a TV which does not have internet connection capabilities but does have HDMI inputs.I attempted numerous times to sync the Vsmart with the iPad. The iPad easily connected with the Vsmart, but would not provide a "mirror" image. I did an internet search for the problem and saw numerous complaints that the "mirror" (tab)feature on the iPad disappeared after updating the iPad to the latest IOS version. Unfortunately my wife's iPhone was not available for testing.I contacted seller (The Digital World) through Amazon and received a timely response. The seller suggested I test the Vsmart with my Android devices and if the results were positive the problem was not the Vsmart. I did this with positive results, which again led me to believe the problem was the iPad software.When my wife returned home, I attempted to connect her iPhone. Surprise, it worked perfectly, which led me back to the iPad. After again reading several internet suggestions, I finally met with success. The problem on the iPad is how one toggles from Air Play to mirror.. I am hoping it still works on the iPhone once I update it to 8.1.2??Now that I am able to mirror both Apple devices and both Android devices by merely toggling the Vsmart settings, I can eliminate the Miracast only device.I would strongly recommend this to anyone having either the latest Apple, Android or both devices.

Found it Extremely difficult to set up and work reliably. Positioning the Vsmart V5i dongle makes a big difference, suspect that it is prone to signal interference from the TV and devices around it. Technical Support is non-existent for this Smartcast dongle.The Youtube videos I found did not offer any information on troubleshooting why this Vsmart V5i dongle hangs with the the screen saying "Waiting for IP Address...." (in the Miracast and Intel WIDI modes).

Does not allow me to stream wireless from my AT&T device using cellular without using a separate wifi network.

Great product. Fast delivery. Exactly how its described. Would of gave it 5 stars if it didn't over heat.

It works fine, but you should know that you need to download an additional $10 app to view your content.
