This woven cotton rug will absorb your perspiration and help you maintain your poses without slipping. It is popular for Power Yoga,Ashtanga Yoga and Bikram Yoga. Practice rugs are widely used in yoga classes in Mysore,India, where Ashtanga is taught. We recommend using one of our Tapas Basic or Original Tapas Mats under your rug to keep it from moving on the floor. Measures 28 inches x 74 inches,100% Cotton. Now with new color options with green, purple, multi&ndsh;stripe in earth tones. All blankets have pretty stripes.

Fine as long as you don't wash them.
purchased this for doing my stretches on. I should have known that on hard floor, it would be too thin without a foam yoga mat underneath. But that's not my complaint against this product(just a heads-up to others) Rolling it back up and stowing it away is easy. Moreover, this is good enough even for use as a rug(in low traffic areas). Maybe with a rug pad underneath. But as soon as I washed it, the colors bled and caused staining on the white stripes of the rug. Which is unfortunate. I really liked the product otherwise.

Adds a New Dimension to Practice--Beautiful and Well Made!
I love these rugs and I have several of them. They add extra traction for Hot and Vinyasa style yoga. If you're looking for a little extra cushion, they can be used in conjunction with any style yoga mat (and at 74", they totally cover most). They rugs themselves are beautiful, durable, and thick--they feel good to the feet. No matter if you do yoga on a thick mat or thin, rubber, or poly, or just on the bare floor--each type of surface is going to give you a different type of "feedback" in your practice. These can be used alone of course, but having them also allows you to pair them with differing mats which creates a unique feedback for each paring. I find that very valuable. Finally, these rugs are washable. I wash them with an agitator free washer with 1/2 the amount of detergent I would use on a similar size item. When you wash them the first time, IF colors bleed (only once for me), just scrub the effected area with detergent and wash them again. I always hang dry. Hugger Mugger has excellent products across the board! I've never gotten a sub-par product from them and they have excellent customer service!

Do not buy this! Rug shrinks.
I wanted so badly to have a cotton yoga mat. So badly that I ignored reviews. One wash and the patterned piece of the rug shrunk. Now the rug bunches up funny and disturbs my practice. What a waste of money.

Glad I bought this
I decided to try this out after reading the reviews and so far, I am pleased with it. My washing machine has a hand wash cycle and no agitator, so I decided to try that instead of hand washing. I used the cold tap water option with just a small amount of detergent and it washed up nicely. After that I just laid it out to dry. I didn’t have any issues with bleeding or shrinking. During use I haven’t noticed any issues with my hands or feet slipping. Hopefully, I will get many years of use out of this rug.

Love this yoga rug
First off, I put this over my yoga mat. It will slide around on smooth flooring. But I expected that and will not let it affect the scoring. It is a beautiful eye catching rug. So much so I find myself debating having a second as it does go well in my living room.Like many, I'm sure, I looked around at different yoga rugs. Trying to find something that expressed me, at least compared to the rest. I have a yoga mat but they can just be uncomfortable after a point. This has a very bold dark burgundy "stripe" in the middle which is vivid and somehow not out of place with the softer colors.

Love these Yoga Rugs!
This is the sixth Hugger Mugger Rug I have purchased. I love them for every kind of workout. Just throw it into the wash and hang dry and you are set to go do another workout.....yay! They look and feel nice too! Have recommended them to clients too who also love them.

Yoga Rug Review
The rug is exactly as advertised. It is a little longer and a little wider than a regular yoga mat, which is just what I like. The material is study, tightly woven, and the seams on the ends are good. I have washed it once, as I do my 5 year old yoga rug, in cold water and hang to dry, to avoid shrinkage. The colors did not fade or run. Also, the tight weave did not shed fibers in the wash. The brown/tan mix is restful in appearance. It is still a bit stiff, but with a few months usage and and few more washings, it will soften up.....as the old one did.In wide-leg poses, I often flip the rug half off my sticky mat for a more stable grip; but with sweaty feet, it's better than the sticky mat. When on hands and knees, sitting on it, or in savasana, it feels better than a sticky mat. This kind of rug is not meant to provide much cushioning. It's thick, tight weave is truly similar to any good floor rug....which makes it very durable. I use it on top of my sticky mat, and for additional knee cushioning (like in gate/parighasana pose)I folding both mats over double does the trick.

Great quality yoga rug!
This yoga rug has a great quality- it works really well for standing or inverted asanas: it is much easier to keep your balance on it rather than on PVC mats. Just a word of caution for people with tender skin: it’s a bit rough, so be careful not to damage your skin when practicing let’s say Patangasana or Shishushupalasana.

Exactly as advertised
Not soft, or even smooth... I would not be happy with this as a yoga mat. Happily, that isn't what I bought it for.
