Micro SIM card adapter 3FF Mini UiCC (100% German-Made)

I purchased this because I own an iPhone 4 as my primary phone, but wanted to try out an Android phone.This is definitely not for those who will be switching between phones regularly. It holds the micro sim in place using a sticker. The package comes with two stickers. Clearly this is a very low tech solution, which is totally fine for the price. Unfortunately, the stickers tend to add to the profile of the sim tray, due to their design. This caused it to get caught and then stuck in my Android device. It took tweezers and a great deal of patience to get it out again.Additionally, it didn't keep the sim card solidly in place and so the sim would occasionally lose contact and cause the phone to lose service.In all, it was a mess. It helped me realize that the best solution is a micro sim adapter that solidly holds the micro sim in place with a clip or other stable solution.Overall, this didn't work for me and I eventually just threw it out. If you are somebody who's looking to go between multiple phones (international travelers, owners of multiple phones, people who share a phone) this is not the solution for you.If you are buying this to move from an old phone to a, single, new phone you should be fine. Just take a lot of care when applying the sticker that holds the sim in place. Also know, that it may occasionally lose contact with the sim slot/reader. A small simple part like this doesn't warrant a lengthy review; suffice it to say that my iPhone 4's micro-sim fits perfectly within the notched slot of this, which fits perfectly into a standard sim slot. What more can you ask for? The two I received snap right in with no cutting, notching, or tape required to hold the sim in place.Highly recommended.Okay, now for the warning. The product works well, but don't do what I did and screw up your netbook: I needed to switch SIM cards on my CR-48 netbook, which was using an iPhone SIM with this adapter. I was afraid I'd lose the adapter, so I slid it back into the SIM slot of the device. Well, duh! What happened was when I tried to pull it out, the little lip that holds the sim card in the adapter caught on the contacts in the netbook and broke them off pulling it out. NEVER insert the sim holder into your phone without a sim in it!!!!

This item DOES work, and does what it says. It allows a micro-sim card to fit in an older-style phone that takes the bigger/original SIM cards.This adapter is NOT meant to be inserted and removed multiple times. It's very flimsy, and every phone has a slightly different way of installing the SIM, so it's hard to make one that will go into every single phone perfectly.Be VERY gentle and patient when inserting/removing this adapter, and you should be okay. You might need to use a pen or a similar item to push the connecting pins down in your phone in order to insert or remove this adapter.I actually inserted my adapter upside down at first, and it got stuck in my cheap/basic samsung phone, and i broke a piece of the adapter off trying to get it back out. It still did its job when inserted the correct way, even with the broken piece missing.I HIGHLY recommend avoiding using this (or any adapter) in a phone that has a TRAY for the SIM card. As it's VERY hard to get to the SIM if anything gets stuck. I'm talking about the iPhone 3g/3gs here. Unlike most phones that open their entire backside to get to the SIM card, the iPhones have that tiny little tray that pops out, and that's all you get. If it gets stuck, you're in trouble.So use this for a cheap phone to hold you over until the next major smartphone comes out, but don't think of it as a permanent or long-term solution.

I had ordered a "Carion" sim adaptor before (100% German made) and it was like the one shown in the photo, so this ain't my first rodeo. That one worked fine and I have been using it for several months transferring the chip from my iPhone4 to my iPhone3G (when I am going to be in situations where my phone has an outside chance of being damaged).The big differentiator between the one that I bought previously and this one is the little "shelves" on each corner. Based on the image and the reviews, that's what I figured I was getting. The one that I received, didn't have the little shelves, and thus the micro sim has nothing to sit on/snap into. It just "floats" in the hole. When I put this in my iPhone 3G, since it was floating, THE SIM GOT STUCK IN MY PHONE AND I HAD TO PAY A TECHNICIAN $40 IN ORDER TO OPEN THE CASE AND GET IT OUT. ON TOP OF THAT, MY TRYING TO PULL THE SIM OUT BENT A WIRE ON THE PHONE THAT HE HAD TO REPAIR.Honestly I don't know what the answer is to ordering a Sim Adaptor online since it seems to be a crap shoot on what you are going to get. I was careful to order the same "German made" brand that I did previously and ended up with something only slightly different physically, but horrendously different in the end result.BOTTOM LINE, IF YOU ORDER ANY MICRO SIM ADAPTOR, IF IT DOESN'T SIT IN THE CARRIER SNUGLY ON IT'S OWN DON'T THINK ABOUT PUTTING IT IN YOUR PHONE, UNLESS YOU RELISH THE POSSIBILITY OF HAVING TO TAKE YOUR PHONE APART.SEND IT BACK FOR A REFUND, EVEN IF IT IS JUST A COUPLE OF BUCKS, OTHERWISE THESE VENDORS WILL CONTINUE TO PAWN OFF SUBSTANDARD GOODS ON US WITHOUT REPERCUSSIONS.

I purchased this a while ago and it garbage.It says made in China, but the description says German made. I could care less, but the description isn't true. Plus, the picture did not match the actual unit. It worked, but it's a pain as it gets stuck in my phone because it doesn't have the lip like the picture. Avoid this product is garbage.The best part is the seller contacted me and said sorry and asked what they could do to fix it. I told them to send me the unit in the picture or a refund. I never heard back.
