Fireplace Blocker 48-Inch H x 55-Inch W Blanket, X-Large

Our fireplace is 53" wide so having doors made was going to cost a small fortune. This blanket is amazing, did the trick. We have metal curtains only on the front so when night comes we just close the curtains and stick this to the front. It would be nice if it were a little wider but like I said our fire place is not the norm so it is what it is. You have to make sure you stop throwing logs on a few hours before you close it up for the night. It needs to be down to just minimal embers, no flames. For the money, its been a great purchase and I dont wake up to a freezing living room.

The perfect solution to closing in the fireplace at night. I used to have to scoop out the coals and ashes so that I could close the flue damper in order to avoid all the heat loss overnight, but now I just attach this to our screen and forget about it until the next morning.

I am amazed at how well this blocker works. We have a fireplace insert that leaks cold air. We were told that it could not be insulated, so we tried this. It works great and does not look bad. Our insert is black, so this blends in. The important thing is that it cuts back on the amount of cold air that comes into the house when we don't have a fire going.....especially over night when the fire goes out. We put the blanket on while there is still heat in the fireplace and we don't have the draft overnight.
