Works well, good design, well built
Happy with this purchase. I used it to make sense of the jumbled mess of cables left over from DirecTV, Dish, Comcast, and AT&T installers over the years. It won't replace a traditional toner if you have a lot of unknown coax cables needing identification, but works fine if you only have a small handful. You don't have to screw in the main tester all the way to hear tone - just make contact with the center core and it will sound.Of course, if the cable is broken anywhere along the path, this tester has no way of knowing. My old Fluke LAN tester can display how many feet away the break occurs, but dragging that bad boy out of storage is overkill (and expensive) if you just want to identify cables. You can purchase extra loop-back units and they will be identified at the tester's display with a different letter depending on the the one currently making contact - very handy. You can also purchase a breakout module to use for Cat3 cables, or even non-terminated electrical wires.I bought this for personal home use and it has come in very handy. I also appreciate having that ability to extend the usefulness of this probe by purchasing various add-ons if/when the need arises.

it works
Decent tester, although fluke has another model that will identify by the number signified on the end unit remote cap... so if you are at the subpanel when you plug in the tester you will see numbers correlating with end caps rather than just a getting a beep for a short.

Love this.
This works. Well made, good features - checks continuity audibly and with display AND checks impedance for 75 ohms.

Works Great
I have used Fluke products in the past and have always found them to be very reliable. The pocket tester is no exception.

Choose your initial kit wisely
The NX2 pocket toner is well constructed and works exactly as advertised. The tone is strong and the testing functions work well. The AAA battery is included and easily replaceable. Before I bought I reviewed the provided comparisons among the different kits and determined that the Cable kit with the small case was perfect for my needs. I also looked in the manual and saw that there was an optional dial tone detective (DTD) that I thought I'd purchase later if the basic kit worked well.Bad idea. The DTD is no longer sold separately. You can get it with the Deluxe kit for $30 more than the Cable kit along with other adapters you may or may not want; or you can buy the ADAP-PTNX-KIT for an additional $50 that duplicates some of the Cable kit adapters and adds others.I reached out to Fluke on this subject and they responded quickly but confirmed that the DTD was no longer sold separately.Come on Fluke! While your reputation for quality is still strong, your prices are high. Now you are bundling optional parts for more profit.

Tal como anuncia el producto Fluke
Llegó en tiempo y forma. Es un producto muy especializado, si no sabes que estás comprando, te puedes decepcionar. Descarga algún manual del producto y revisa antes de comprar, en mi caso, todo perfecto.

Exactly as advertised!
Does a great job. I was able to identify and label a rats nest of coax cable throughout my house and converging in my basement. I would highly recommend this device. It's in my toolbox for good now.
