Love red heart the only brand I choose!

So, it's been a while since I picked up a crochet hook and did anything. On a recent weekend out of town, I ended up at Michael's and thought how great it would be to start again .. it's only been 25 years, what could go wrong? Well, it turns out that three skeins of yarn do not an afghan make (how that afghan is looking right now based on my memory of crochet lessons 25 years ago is a different and slightly embarrassing story). Fortunately, I found the same yarn on Amazon and at a lower price.The yarn itself isn't for making sweaters, hats, baby clothes, or anything else where you want that pillow soft feel. But for a blanket to add to your bed for warmth it's just fine. The colors flow into each other better than I'd expected and it's pretty. It's exactly what I needed for my first project. My next project I may feel confident enough to upgrade the yarn a bit .. but that's way, way down the road right now.

This is my go-to yarn whenever I crochet afghans. It is economical, which means I can create large, cozy projects without breaking the bank, and it is also wonderfully easy to work with. The yarn glides smoothly on the hook, holds its shape well, and works up evenly, making it perfect for both beginners and experienced crocheters. I love how consistent the quality is across skeins with no knots, tangles, or irregular thickness. I find myself using this yarn for many different projects. It is beautiful in color, easy to use, and gets softer when washed. I've made prayer shawls and baby blankets from it and never disappointed in the result. Recently, I made plastic canvas remote holder using this yarn, which complements my bedroom decor. This would make a lovely lap robe, afghan, or bed cover. It washed easily in the washing machine and doesn't shrink in the dryer. When rinsed with a little fabric softener, it is soft and resists soiling.

I purchased 4 skeins of this yarn for my 4th grade students to use in making a Mother's Day gift. (Crochet-covered Coat Hangers) I selected this variegated yarn because and I know my students will LOVE the beautiful colors. Also, the yarn has a marvelous texture and doesn't fray or untwist readily, as some yarns do; it will be easy for small, inexperienced hands to use. Finally, the price is right, and I had no problem spending my own money for this special school project. My kids' moms deserve it!

The shades of gray in the yarn very front a hint of taupe to a hint of blue .I always like the colors of red heart yarn, they just don’t always work well in my knitting machine. When possible, I tried to get the same color in a different brand. If you are using a knitting machine like Addi or Sentro, I found that most the time I can get red heart yarn to work by adding tension either with my hand or with wax earplugs. On smaller projects I don’t mind if I have to pull something apart and redo it if a stitches skipped, but on longer projects, it can be frustrating. If I like the yarn, well enough, and sometimes I do, I will restart a bigger project with red heart yarn a few times before getting up. There are also times that I have zero problems with red heart yarn.

Ordered this because it's 1 of 2 colors I needed for a dog sweater that I'm making.I'm making a modified dog sweater , so it's more of a dog sweat dress. Really impressed with how fast this came in
