Everyone should read this book!
Upon first downloading this book I did know what to expect, nor did I have high hopes. I have struggled on and off with eating disorders since I was a child, but didn't recognise the cycle - which progressively got worse over the years. From the first chapter I was hooked; I wanted to know more about why I had such a dependence on food and how to turn my life around. Carolyn Ross explained exactly how to do that, with each chapter focusing on and exploring a different element while building a journey to self-discovery and healing.Backed with research and many points of reference, this book is not only extremely credible but is also clear, concise and can be read page by page or all at once. The exercises are easy to follow [and insightful to behavioural issues], and this book really goes above and beyond in hitting the nail on the head. I will be keeping this book as a reference for years to come! Its practical wisdom is simple but extremely profound. This isn't a book which will fix you - the hard work is yours to put in. But the great part is that Ross guides you [the reader] and leads you to find the strength within to overcome the battle you're facing. It's all about identifying the knowledge and tools that you already have and implementing them in new ways to get through your eating disorder.I'll definitely be reading other writings from this author. :)

For BED
This book is great if you have a sense of responsibility with yourself, the exercises listed may make you see things from a very different perspective, which is a very good start when you want to overcome an E.D. since you tend to think more in a black/white way. It also has some traits of mindfulness which I personally love and has proven to be very effective even with borderline. I strongly encourage to read it, even if you dont like it you will end up understanding BED and C.E. a lot better, which implies understanding yourself better.

Pretty good, maybe a little dry
This is a cognitive behavioral therapy workbook to help stop BED. It's good and there is great stuff on body image which I look and need. But I do like some sustenance and some chattiness, this is more like a how to book.

Positive thoughts and positive attitude
I have been a binge and purger since early teens and still have several bouts a week. I am taking this behavior change one small step at a time and understand that this may take along time not magically.

A lot of weight focused language - some good tools
There is a lot of weight-focused language in this book, which has been shown NOT to help people who are struggling with binge eating or overeating. I am a professional who works with eating disorders, and I would not recommend this to my clients after reading through it. There are some really helpful things in it, so if you are a professional, it could be helpful to use specific tools from this to have your clients work through.

Logical and holistic guide book
I have struggled with compulsive overeating all my life. As a computer programmer, I have lived most of my life in my head. This is the first source of information I have ever run into that describes in very basic yet not patronizing terms, how to start living in your body and listening to its messages. It helps the reader identify their triggers and provides many suggestions for dealing with those triggers in ways other than turning to food. It also provides easy-to-understand nutritional information.I found this book much more helpful than attending OverEaters Anonymous.I would recommend this to anyone who wants a logical methodology for working with their food bad habits.

Disappointing
For a book described as one that not about being overweight. Chapter 2, not o clufed in the preview, spends the entire chapter, taking measurements to let you know you are obese. The description said otherwise. Just another reason to quit buying books about eating.

She loved it. Trust me
Bought for my daughter who was having some issues. She loved it. Trust me, she would have let me know if she didn't. She enjoyed how the book was interactive. She said that it addressed things she had not been able to put in words. She said it addressed aspects of her life most people didn't understand. The book is good for people who have varying symptoms. For instance, she never purged. I hope this review helps. :) God bless you on your journey.
