With a Pretty Woman/ Maid in Manhattan vibe, this story hit all the right marks for me! Abby works two jobs to pay off school loans and, in a desperate moment, crashes at one of her cleaning clients' apartments while he's out of town. She wakes up to find the client's parents in the apartment, and they mistake her for their son's (made-up) girlfriend. Declan proposes a "business deal" with Abby to help him with an awkward situation with his family and business associates. Who knew Abby would fit in so well with Declan's family and colleagues, and how much fun they would have hanging out. Lynn Painter is a master at writing swoony relationships, and this one brought all the giddiness of a relationship turning into more. The Audiobook is a dual narration with Teddy Hamilton. ‧₊˚✧ 3.75 ✧˚₊‧ This was the book of the month of my lovely physical book club 'Het Kempisch Boekenclubje'. We decided to read a romance novel this month and the winner from all the entries was Maid for Each Other. I was quite excited to read another Lynn Painter book, since I really enjoyed 'Accidentally Amy' a lot. This story is told from the perspectives of Abi and Declan. The point of view alternated between the two throughout the whole book. I have to say: I do love me a good fake dating trope and it was delectable. I usually have trouble with things moving too fast, but I have to say that in this story, it didn't bother me at all. I also loved how aware Declan was of his own privilege. The man was self aware and I liked that a lot in his character. The subplot regarding him and Roman made this trait even more pronounced, and I think it came together quite nicely. I did have a bit of trouble with the third act breakup in this one. As well as a small ick to what partially caused it to happen. Luckily we didn't have to wait long for them to come back together. Conclusion: a fun romantic palate cleanser. It was the perfect read for Valentine's day, so the vibes were definitely on point on my part. I will definitely read more Lynn Painter in the future!
