They are very sturdy and don’t weigh much but they are hard to open. You definitely need hand strength to be able to use these.

These spring clip collars fit to 2-inch barbell at my gym. They are easy to use and grip well to hold tons of weights. They are very sturdy and well-made with stainless steel material unlike other cheap plastics. I’m very confident to use these without thinking of accidents. The black color is great to look at.

Tl;dr, this collar is excellent for the price. I have been using cheap, terrible Velcro collars for about a year. I was saving up to buy some expensive name brand collars, but decided to try these after a mishap with the plate sliding clear off during a farmer’s walk. For the price, these collars are pretty solid. The plates wobble a bit if you don’t make sure you have the collar on at the right angle, but it does not move back and forth on the bar. I feel a lot safer than I did using Velcro collars. The only real downside is these may not work if you have arthritic hands, as they do often require both of my (small) hands and some grip strength to get them in place. Note that I am relatively petite, so I haven’t tried these out with a massive plate stack. I’ve tried these collars up to 250 pounds on hip thrusts, and they have held the plates in place perfectly.

These are really nice! The home gym equipment i bought came with spring clips, i wanted a few extra, and these are much better quality then the ones that came with all my equipment

The newer clips like this are now angled to slip tighter on the plate.. great for me 😁
