Being from Sweden, IceBugs knows more than they might want to admit about winter. Not only the postcard pretty, snowy landscape type, but anything from -25C, over slush to the modern city version of +5C with the rain blowing hard into your face and the streets flooding. The real icebugs survive by creating an anti-freeze protein in their bodily fluids. We humans can’t resort to that. But warm, dry feet and outstanding traction are good for staying mobile and increasing the chances of making it through, even keeping the spirits up.

Just like having Carbide Studded Snow Tires on your Feet!!
This is my second pair. I am midway through my third winter with the first pair I bought. I live in North West Alaska on the coast 35 miles North of the Arctic Circle. So as you could imagine, conditions here are icy and slippery much of the year. Winters here are from the beginning of October to the end of May. I wear them daily and they still grip great midway through the 3rd winter. The reason I ordered the new pair was because the vertical seams were starting to separate on the sides about where the toes start. I glued and restitched them to get some extra life out of them since other than that they have not really worn out at all. I am giving the shoe 5 stars because they changed the design and got rid of the seams in question.Grip & Durability.....since I have worn these shoes/boots (they are really more like a light boot) I have not landed on my butt once since I started wearing them. The carbide studs really do what they say....they grip the ice like you wouldn't believe!! My place of work has a concrete floor out in the shop and I walk it it constantly daily. Outside it is pavement and not all of it is covered with snow and ice. The studs have worn a little bit but they still keep me on my feet. I have lost only two of the studs in all the use I have put them through. The rest of the building that I work at has linoleum flooring and I have walked on that daily the last 2 and a half winters with these shoes as well.......you cannot find one mark, dent, scratch, or gouge from these shoes anywhere. I do not wear them on wood or laminate flooring though because I am sure they would do all the afore mentioned. The only time I have slipped (just a little) it was on new powdery snow over ice.....but the carbide studs quickly dug in and stopped the slip. If I hadn't of been wearing them I am fairly certain I would of hit the ground. Many times I haved stepped out of the maintenance truck out onto an icy runway (I work at the airport here) and have been happy i had these shoes on. My co-workers slip and slide while I work confident I won't slip and fall.Warmth......These shoes are warm!! They may not look like they would be, but they are!! I have spent 6 hours out on the ice with the temperature around zero F. with just a pair of ankle high sports socks inside these shoes. I finally noticed my feet getting a little chilly on the way back to shore after all that time on the ice. Even after 6 hours with thin socks my feet did not get uncomfortably cold.Looks........These shoes/boots look good! I bought a pair of these with out the carbide studs for occasions where I needed a better looking shoe other than sneakers but didn't want to wear regular shoes that would slam me on my butt. Those shoes have all the same qualities as the Icebugs except for the carbide studs.I rate this shoe/boot overall to be 5+ stars and well worth the money!

2 Years in and Still Great!!!!
I would rate 100 stars if I could. To the guy who reviewed that the shoe did not look like they would hold up, well I live in the Alaska Interior and I wear these things every day, and they are on their second winter. I even forced my wife to buy a pair, now she will not leave the house without them.If you are tired of falling on ice - get these boots.I Love these Boots.***********************************Just wanted to give an update - 24 Oct 2016 and I still have these boots. I wear them back and forth to work. I have a new identical pair as backup.

I LOVE these! Many boot makers use such stiff material ...
I have probably tried every studded winter boot and pull on ice cleat over the years but still expect more than one spectacular fall on the ice in front of an audience every winter. I LOVE these! Many boot makers use such stiff material for their soles that they just skip across icy surfaces instead of grabbing them. A little softer rubber and flex helps the sole conform to grip uneven frozen surfaces. Lots of winter boots are fine in snow, but here we have more ice...rock hard -0 F truck tire polished ice and ice that gets rained on for days. A Zamboni couldn't create a slicker surface. Pull-on ice cleats are a little more hassle when needed multiple times a day unless you just leave them on a pair of shoes all winter. Pull on cleats sometimes slip on the shoe soles while walking which can cause a fall.I love the quick simple zip on and off. Why would someone even try wearing them on a smooth indoor floor? The boots come on and off so easily. Even if you are not worried about scratching a floor you do have to pay attention or you will slip. Many winter boots are much too warm for me but these are not. If its colder I just wear more socks. These were a little snug at first but did stretch. Don't get them too large unless you have thicker socks on hand. Yes I suppose the metal logo could snag pant hems but mine haven't so far. Arch support wasn't great but I wear orthotics anyway. Overall, I'm very happy with these!

Tested during the Polar Vortex in Philadelphia
I love these boots and cannot say enough about them. This winter has been brutal in Philly (as it has been elsewhere in the States) and I had the chance to test them in all sorts of conditions, having worn them to work at least once a week for the last two months.Ice? No problem at all. Snow? No problem. I had absolute confidence walking on the craziest surfaces when others were sliding all around me.They look great, are light, and repel dirt. The one thing to be aware of is that the carbide tips make a clattering noise on some hard surface; if your office has no carpeting, you may want to have a pair of normal shoes to wear at work once you get there. All in all, very well produced. Will be buying a pair for my wife.

Great Shoe/Boot for Snowblowing!!
My husband loves these boots. He had tried various items that you place over your shoes to grip the ice, but they never lasted very long. But with these Icebugs, he has a sure grip when he is out blowing the snow from our driveway. And since we live in Alaska, these boots will get a lot of use!

Awesome Boots!!!
Have been looking for boots like these for a couple of years. Wasn't aware of Ice Bugs brand until a week or so before I ordered these. Even though there were some reviews that stated these boots ran on the small side, they fit perfectly for me in my normal size. LOVE the traction, fit, look, and comfort. Have worn them a week or so now and really enjoy not having to worry about walking on ice here in Montana.

Great invention!!
My whole family loves these as do all the friends and neighbors that have tried them. The boot grabs onto ice and works well! We have at least half a dozen other kinds of ice grippers and none works as well. Taking the dog out all winter means we old people need to be steady on our feet and these do the trick.

These shoes WORK!
I bought these shoes just before the snow came falling in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Today was the first day i got to try them and i was very impressed.Whether it was a sidewalk, grass or road, whether the conditions were snowy or icy or both, I walked with these shoes from home to work (about 5.1 km) without any issues. Considering that i have no balance and a history of slipping and falling in winter, these shoes are a god-send for me.The fit was perfect, the carbide studs really helped when i was crossing the icy roads and walking up a curved bridge and the comfort fit and insulation was perfect. The only time i had a problem was when i walked up tile stairs inside my work building and i had to be careful not to wreck my wooden stairs at home :PI have been bragging and telling anyone who would listen that if you plan to walk in winter, these shoes are the perfect shoes for you.

Awesome winter boots for work and play
They're great and provide amazing traction in ice and snow. Very comfortable, easy to slip on & off. Would buy one size larger than you normally wear.

Just what I was looking for. Tight fit, ...
Just what I was looking for. Tight fit, light weight and stability on ice. Beware though, a little bit snow over some ice will prevent the studs from gripping and you could fall. They don't make you invincible.
