Incredible. Life changing. My dad can hear again.
I got these for my dad, who is in his eighties and has been suffering moderate hearing loss for years. This is his first pair of hearing aids. Previously he looked at and rejected other options because he didn't want over-the-ear hearing aids, and didn't want to pay for consumable batteries, and didn't want to pay $5-10K for custom prescription hearing aids. Then along comes Nano. He put them in and within seconds he was transformed. He has been talking about them non-stop for 2 days now. He absolutely loves them. His whole life has changed for the better. He has stopped shouting all the time, and now listens to the television at a volume so low that I can't even hear it. Incredible. Having said all that, I will point out one item you should pay attention to that we struggled with a bit. You should read the entire manual carefully. Especially the part about cleaning and changing the ear wax guards. The ear wax guards are NOT what you are thinking of -- the big silicone "bells" that go on the outside of the hearing aid. Nope, those are just for fitting purposes, you can experiment with them and find the ones that fit your ears to reduce feedback. Nope, the wax guards are the extremely tiny bright white seals that are located in the tip of each hearing aid. You have to remove the silicon bells to find them. You can see them in my photo (one in the end of the hearing aid, one at the end of the black stick). If those guards get clogged with wax you won't hear anything, and you will need to pop them out using the black stick tool, and either wash or replace them. Yesterday dad reported that one hearing aid had stopped working, and that's what the problem was. I removed the silicone ear bell, found the clogged wax guard, removed it, washed it in rubbing alcohol and put it back in. And everything was working perfectly again. You have been warned. Aside from that one glitch, the Nano hearing aids have been flawless and a joy to have found. If I could give them 10 stars I would. Highly recommended.

Comfortable and effective
I'm a bit of a unique case - my hearing is very sensitive, so many noises really bother me. I got these hoping that they would block out noise and allow me to adjust what gets through to a comfortable level. For this application, these hearing aids work very well! They were easy to set up and use, following the included instructions, and they are very well designed and seem to be great quality. While the audio isn't quite as clear as natural hearing, it's very close and just takes a little getting used to. For those like me who have small ear canals, it may take a bit longer to get used to the fit. While I was able to get them most of the way into my ear canals from the start, they did stick out a bit, and became uncomfortable after about half an hour. I did get used to them after a while, and since my hearing and my ears adjusted, I'm able to wear them for much longer periods without issue. In that vain, there are many different ear tips included, as well as installation tools, to fit different preferences. Of these, I am using the smallest one which isn't much wider than the probe itself. Even after the break-in period, while they do sit comfortably now, unfortunately they still don't fit completely inside my ear canal, making them visible from the outside. It's not glaringly obvious, but is noticeable. If you have small ear canals and are self-conscious about this, then you may want to look for smaller devices. The battery lasts a very long time of continuous use, which is compounded by the charging case. I haven't timed it, but the estimate of 18+ hours per charge seems accurate. As long as you charge the case every night, you should have no issues. The controls are my main reason for rating 4 stars instead of 5. The volume is controlled individually on each ear using a button on the device to cycle through volume levels. It's a bit of a drag that the ears aren't synced, but it makes sense if you have different levels of hearing loss in each ear. What's more of a pain is having to turn the volume up before getting to a lower volume. If you want to lower the volume because you're in a loud environment, having to turn them up to loop around can be painful, and taking them out of your ears to avoid it is a hassle.

With nice functional hearing aids
Well, these are over-the-counter purchased hearing aids. I am very impressed with them. My husband who refuses to wear them and I have previously purchased two other pairs for him both of them costing more than $2000 per pair and he informed me that he will wear them and that they will work and that everything will be fine right up until about a month after they can’t be returned anymore and then it’s all of a sudden oh they don’t work oh they’re uncomfortable oh I don’t like them. Oh they make things too loud. So I now have two sets of hearing aids that were made for him that have cost me over $4000. When I saw these, I acquired them with the intention that if he doesn’t wear them, I know my hearing aid hearing is decreasing as my age increases and I figured I would just use them for me. Well, once again he told me oh I’m going to wear them and he wore them all of three hours on one day. That has been three weeks ago so now then the hearing aids are no longer in his possession, and I am training my ears to get used to them so that I can hear things more clearly especially conversations with those that I love. The quality of the sound is very good. It’s easy to adjust the battery. Life lasts all day even with wearing them all day long and they’re super easy to clean. I have found that these are a very acceptable option to the high priced that is more than $2000 hearing aids and I will definitely stick with this kind if he ever decides that he will actually wear a pair.
