These work!
I replaced one of the DualSense Edge replaceable joysticks with one of these and am very pleased with early results. The drift is gone and factory zero-out is true (I didn't even bother to calibrate the controller). The action feels smooth and range of motion seems identical to the other OEM stick

Upgraded two controllers and they work perfectly
I used these to replace the sticks inside four DualSense Edge modules. I personally have had them installed for a few months now and they are still working perfectly. I absolutely love that there is little to no drift even after heavy use. I will be continuing to stick with these TMR modules. They are a massive upgrade from the originals and a really good value compared to others on the market

Great Replacement! (Tricky install)
Have only have these installed for a week but so far so good! These saved my favorite controller from stick drift. They'll take some getting used to as they're more precise than stock joysticks, but once you settle in you'll wonder how you managed without them! Few bits of advice: 1. Be sure to have soldering experience before tackling this project. You dont want to damage anything due to inexperience! 2. Get a solder sucker, it'll save you a huge amount of time and/or frustration. 3. Use flux. 3. Replace the accent rings too (if you've used a controller to the point of drift, those are also likely worn out) 4. Calibrate them after installing (their instructions say that, but don't forget it!)

So Far- So Good
Given just how quickly my PS5 controller sticks go bad, I'm glad these replacements are available. Seriously, the controller that came with my new PS5 went bad within 6 months of purchase so I bought a new controller, the left stick on the new controller started drifting within 6 months so again I bought yet another controller. Guess what, that one also started drifting on the left stick at just about 6 months in. My wife and I only use the PS5 for about an hour every night and no kids have ever used it. Floored why these expensive controllers go bad so quickly with light use. I finally got tired and frustrated with having to buy a new controller every 6 months. With that said, I finally decided to try and fix my controllers instead of purchasing new ones. Originally I was going to get Hall Effect switches but stumbled onto these TMR switches and after doing a little research came to the conclusion that the TMR switches are even better than the Hall Effect switches. I also read that Gulikit switches are the most popular but then also found out that "AKNES was created as the exclusive agent and partner of big R&D brands like: 8BitDo/GuliKit/RetroFlag/MOBAPAD". So if I am understanding correctly, these AKNES TMR switches are exactly the same switches that Gulikit sells but at a lower cost. Anyway, these AKNES switches are what I decided to try. I found that replacing these switches was fairly straight forward but I am also no stranger to soldering, so no big deal. Once installed I found the website where you can calibrate the new switches. Calibration was quick and easy. The TMR switches calibrated nicely however I did notice some slight off center jittering. They only stayed perfectly centered at 0.00 if the thumsticks were moved off center then quickly released. Fortunately the sticks work perfectly in game with no drifting. They also feel better overall than the factory sticks in my opinion. Now, I certainly would think twice about trying this with no experience in soldering however these switches are affordable so if you have no experience soldering electronics but want to try, your not really out much cash if you fail. You would just have to buy a new controller which really is the only other option when the factory switches go bad anyway. At the very least you will need a good high temp soldering iron (preferably one you can set the temp on), some good rosin core solder (or solid core & flux), a good solder sucker or a good solder wick braid to remove the old solder and a screwdriver set made for electronics repair. I would also suggest a anti-static mat, a anti-static grounding strap and a circuit board holder. There are some good YouTube videos that show replacement from start to finish. Lastly, be careful when soldering and de-soldering. The solder can drip and attach to other components on the circuit board causing shorts once you reinstall the battery. I actually had this happen on the second controller I fixed. I got the controller all repaired but found it was acting like the L2 switch was pressed which I confirmed on a website the test controller switches. I had to tear down the controller again to find the problem. I spent over an hour looking at the board under a magnifying glass looking to see if solder dripped on something. I was about to give up when I noticed a very small diode looked slightly different than the one next to it. I gave it a little scrap with a pick and a microdot (size of a pinhead) of solder broke free from it. Hoping this was the issue I reassembled the controller and retested. It now worked! Overall I am very happy with these switches and so far both the controllers I replaced the switches in are working great. I highly recommend these switches. I will update this review if at any time they develop any issues.

Not many company's offer the qualified support this one does.
One of the replacement sticks I received was faulty. The first step toward figuring that out was rebuilding the data and power traces, which had been damaged when I melted the original OEM joysticks during removal. The plastic fused to the board and tore out eyelets and traces when I tried to lift them off using a hot air gun. To fix the board, I worked directly with a professional in the seller's dedicated Discord. They take time to review people’s installs, give precision advice, and genuinely help everyone get the best possible results. With their guidance, I repaired the board and went through every possible cause of failure. Once it was clear the part itself was faulty, the seller immediately shipped me a new one. No hassle, no pushback, just real support. The working sticks feel great. Solid and responsive. Once I switched to a proper soldering iron instead of hot air, the rest of the install went smoothly. These are high quality parts backed by even better service. Mistakes happen. Things go wrong. But when a company and community step in to help you recover, that says everything. I will absolutely order from them again. See below the disaster I recovered from. They sent not one, but a set of two Bravo!

Doesn’t Work
I have done tons of ps5 joystick repairs with trms from AKNES and they’ve been fine. But I got a 4 pack of xbox series ones and tried fixing one of my Xbox controllers with them and it seemed like all 4 are so out of calibration that I can’t even use the calibration tool on the Xbox or on windows. It doesn’t even register feedback on gamepass tester it just flips from top right corner to top left on its own and nothing I do can’t change it. I have desoldered and resoldered many times and still same results. It might be because I replaced both but I need to anyway and it’s not working. I’ve done tons of ps5 controllers no problems. Idk if I’m not doing something right but it seems like there is something wrong with Xbox joysticks in general from AKNES.

I first started soldering one and testing if it would work and it did, after soldering the other one suddenly my controller stopt working at all. I couldn’t make it to work again with both stick attached to it.

I have installed 10 of these TMR joysticks in the past month. They have all worked well and I haven't had any issues with them yet. After calibrating, I get error rates between 3-5% on the circularity test. This is way better than the 10-11% I typically see with original PS5 joysticks. The game play is so smooth and so much more precise! I absolutely love the improvement these joysticks have made to my gaming experience. Well worth the upgrade! Do make sure that you have a soldering iron that can reach 450C, and a hot-air gun or desoldering iron for removing the original joysticks is recommended.

Works great. Did have some difficulty removing old sensors. So had to cut them apart to make removal easier. Good idea to get an electric desoldering pump or a desoldering heating plate designed for analog sensors if you want to remove the old sensors without destroying them. Decent soldering skills and equipment absolute necessity.,

Only bought these because the Gulkit TMRs wouldn’t have arrived in time but now I’m happy I did. These work great, if not better than the Gulkit TMRs! When testing, I got a lower input error percentage vs the Gulkit (average 3% vs Gulkits 3.7%) when using Gamepad Tester - Impressive! I also like the blue body of the joysticks compared to the black found on the Gulkits. If you’ve never used TMRs before, these are much better than the stock ALPS joysticks found from factory as there’s no friction between the potentiometers and the joystick, allowing your controller to be drift free forever! You’ll need good soldering skills to install these without damaging your controller. I recommend grabbing a rework station if you’re a regular or at least a decent soldering iron + variable heat gun and maybe some low melt for easy removal. **Make sure to calibrate them before use as they don’t come working optimally out the box - you’ll need to calibrate stick centre and stick range.** If these could be improved, Aknes should give us something like the KK rings (thumb grips with metal between the grip and the base) found on the Gulkits. From my own testing, I’ve found the metal glides smoother against the DualSense shell vs the plastic used on stock and Aknes grips. These feel more like a fresh OEM controller that never degrades vs knowing you have TMRs installed. Aside from that price difference is about £1-2 so not much between them - both are solid options. Overall 5 stars
