Yes you WILL use the backstraps on this cooler!
We bought this to be a behind the seat cooler for car trips. Needed something narrow, tall enough for wine bottles with rubber stoppers (spill risk) and less expensive than The high end competition. Since we did NOT need 3 day ice retention we thought this a good compromise. At first I thought the NON DETACHABLE shoulder straps would be a nuisance. BUT... how many times have you had to wait 25 minutes for the bellman or couldn't find a luggage cart?I have used the backstraps WAY more than I thought. Since we have only used for car trips the ice retention has been fine (we can refill every night in hotel). Comes with zipper lube, which you should apply right away. I will update if it does not have reasonable longevity.

Nice cooler shipped and received as described
Looks great but hasn’t hit the elements yet. Seams look well welded and easily repairable/maintainable. Filled it with water, none leaked out and it was easily wiped clean afterward. It fits my 9’ kayak perfectly with room left for my dry bag for overnights and that’s awesome.

Cooler on the Go
The igloo cooler is a solid cooler for a day trip depending how much you pack. We used the cooler in the Outer Banks and would often have to repack it at lunch time with more drinks. After beers, water, snacks, sandwiches and ice it fills up rather fast. I would recommend a larger cooler if you plan on packing to stay all day long somewhere. The zipper is to hard to open and you need to hold one hand to brace the cooler and the other to unzip. Maybe some zipper lubricant will help! That is why I gave it four stars.

Best cooler ever
I have a yeti, RTIC and now Igloo….it’s the best one yet. The zippers are the best…it’s durable, lasts well. This is my third one I’ve bought (this and last were gifts). Save money and time and buy this

Internal Leakage
Have used this cooler a handful of times now and love the design. The straps are solid, the zipper can even be almost too sealed. Size is great and the build is sturdy. After the most recent use, we noticed water trapped between the inside liner and the foam used to retain the internal temperature. The water is bubbling inside like a water bed. It can be drained (extremely slowly,) but after being upside down for 2 days, the water has not completely dripped out.Since it is beyond the 30 day return policy the shipper, Spreetail, said there is nothing they can do. I would almost assume this is a design flaw. A small seam opening inside the liner must be allowing water from the bottom of the liner into the foam internals of the cooler.

Can't imagine paying 3 times more for the new-trendy name brands
The Igloo brand name has been around for as long as I can remember making coolers/ice chests etc... I think of Igloo and Coleman as staples that have had a presence at every sporting event, cookout, camping trip etc... that I've ever been a part of.They aren't as trendy as Yeti or RTIC and I'm guessing they are starting to show their age, particularly in the technology and marketing departments.I was ready to pull the trigger on a $300 dollar backpack from Yeti. Found some great deals from RTIC and was ready to buy theirs at 180. Finally saw some reviews and online videos for this unit, and specifically how it compares to the other two. It was a no-brainer. I don't need a backpack to keep drinks cold or ice from melting for 48 hours. I need to be able to take it on a hike or a picnic or a baseball game and have it keep things for a few hours or maybe even most of a day. This thing does that PERFECTLY and was 1/3 the price.I only have one complaint, and that is the zipper - seems to function flawlessly but even after applying the zipper-lube, is very tough to use for people with weaker hands or less dexterity (read: old people and very young people). It does seem to be improving over time, and we really don't use it often. I think with continued use and occasional lubrication it will keep getting better.Overall could not be more pleased with this purchase.

Keeps drinks cold!!
Great backpack. The only negative is that zipper is tough to open due to the waterproofing.

Well made
Purchased as a gift for a family member. They love it, it’s fine on many trips with them.
